chapter 15

"I don't wanna see her ugly face," Laurence groans, his eyes rolling to the other side of his view as he crosses his arms. It was time for Laurence to head off to Olive Garden, his first job, and go break it off with Harper. Of course, Garroth just thought he was going to work. He didn't actually think he was gonna break it off with her today. But boy oh boy did Laurence have a surprise for him. The brunette grins once Garroth leans up and kisses his tan cheek.

"Go off to work and come back if you need anything, okay? I'll be here," The blonde speaks, rubbing Laurence's arms.

"Anything?" Laurence smirks which causes Garroth to blush violently whilst giggling.

"Yes! Anything, Laurence."

The brunette grins and says his goodbye, walking off to his car. As he begins to unlock the vehicle, he suddenly hears the loud sound of heels clicking on the sidewalk. He turns his head to see Cadenza marching over to him with tears running down her face. "Why c-couldn't you just fucking stay on the damn phone and l-listen to m-me?!" She stammers, shoving and pushing him with anger.

Laurence's eyes widen, "Cad? What the hell? What's going on? Why are you cry— STOP!" He shouts, grabbing her wrists and swinging her hands off of him.

"You couldn't s-stay on the damn phone f-for a second?!" She cries, falling to the ground and sobbing into her hands. Laurence shakily sighs and rubs his eyes to avoid crying himself.

"What happened, Cad? Are you okay?" He whispers. He crouches down next to her and softly grasps her shoulder with concern.

"I-It's d-dad," She stutters. The brunette's face falls as he clutches her hand reassuringly.

"What about dad?"

"He n-needs surgery f-for his liver or whatever t-the fuck," She whimpers while staring at the ground and letting fresh water spill from her eyes, her mascara running as well and getting mixed up with her tears.

"A liver transplant you mean?"

"Y-Yes," She shout-whispers, looking up at her sibling and falling completely silent. Both of them remain stuck in silence as misery and sadness wash over them. "They said h-he may n-not be strong e-enough to u-undergo surgery though..." And with that they both burst into tears, hugging each other and swaying back and forth on the ground. The brunette whines softly, knotting his fingers in her lava colored hair.

"It'll be okay, Cad. Dad's strong. He'll be okay," The brunette comforts his sister. But he had no idea if he was telling the truth or not. After the whole breakdown with Cadenza and a whole lot of explaining and crying to Garroth, Laurence drops Cadenza off back at her house and drives off to Olive Garden. He enters the restaurant with red and puffy eyes, eye bags, and a stuffy nose. Different employees there frown with sympathy towards him as he passes by them. He walks towards his boss' office and knocks lightly, hearing a low 'come in' from the other side of the door. The brunette inhales deeply before exhaling and entering the office. The man looks up and immediately growls when seeing Laurence, knowing that he was Harper's so called, 'boyfriend'.

"What do you want now? A raise?" The man groans, Laurence shakes his head. The brunette sighs and looks over to see Harper sitting in a chair with a magazine. Her face is consumed of a look that says, 'oh my god why are you here please leave'.

"I just want to say a few things," Laurence utters, wiping the dry tears from his face. "Your daughter is dating me. And Emanuel. At the same time."

"What?!" Harper shrieks, her eyes wide with fear. The man looks over at her with a shocked expression. "N-No! H-How did you f-find out a-about it, you—"
