It was 10:50 PM and here stood a blonde and a brunette, trying to get Sebastián to sleep. The young child continued to cry, wanting his father to come home. But Garroth was confused. Where was their father? Laurence sighs, holding the child lightly in his arms, not long before the 6 year old passes out into a peaceful sleep. Laurence places him softly in bed, careful not to wake him up. After that, Garroth and him tip toe out of the room and into Valeria's room. There was a taffy pink colored wooden chair next to her bed, most likely for Laurence to sit in. She was holding a children's book in her hands and she was reading it quietly, her horribly painted pink nails flipping through the pages. Laurence takes a seat in the chair and Garroth expects Laurence to read the book. But as soon as he sits down, Valeria puts the book back on the nightstand. Laurence begins to softly sing. Valeria smiles softly and hugs her beige teddy bear, her brown hair pulled up into a pony tail, and her outfit from before replaced with a plain white nightgown. Her eyes slowly fall as Laurence continues to sing, Garroth's heart beginning to speed up quickly.
God he loved this man.
A few minutes later, the brunette stops singing and tucks her in nicely, tip toeing out of her room quietly with the blue eyed blonde. "Why do you sing her to bed?" Garroth smiles, combing his fingers through Laurence's hair.
"Because she can't fall asleep on her own. She always ends up with bad nightmares and negative thoughts whenever she tries. It's kind of like night terrors," Laurence responds and Garroth nods, showing Laurence that he understood. Next, they walk into Nicolás' room. He was already in bed and already asleep. Laurence smiles and turns off the lamp beside the boy's bed and after that, they walk downstairs, into the living room. Garroth flops down onto the couch, watching Laurence pick up the tray of empty cups and the empty bowl of popcorn.
"That was a long day. I'm tired. How do you do this everyday?" Garroth mumbles, resting his arm over his eyes. Laurence shrugs,
"I think about you. And my family. And your family. And I work because I know that it'll all be worth it in the end," He says. Garroth bites his bottom rose lip softly and stands up, walking towards Laurence and squeezing the boy's shoulders.
"I love you so fucking much," He whispers. Silence. Silence takes over the room. It's extremely quiet, but not in an awkward way. Laurence glares at Garroth with disbelief.
"W-What?" He shakily breathes, his eyes sharply scanning Garroth up and down for any sign of uncertainty.
"I said that I love you so fucking much," Garroth repeats. However this time, Laurence drops the empty bowl of popcorn that was in his hands and he bursts into tears. Garroth wraps his arms around Laurence, locking them both into a loving hug. Laurence cries hysterically into the younger's shoulder, his back bouncing up and down from his unsteady breaths. It was then when Garroth noticed.
That this man was absolutely broken inside.
It was then that Garroth noticed how hard he was working and how much drama and stress he was being put through. The amount of problems that were being placed on top of Laurence's shoulder was way too much. Garroth wanted to take that feeling away from Laurence, at least for a couple of hours. "Laur... W-Why are y-you crying?" Garroth stutters, tears brimming the corners of his eyes.
"B-Because t-those w-words coming f-from you m-mean so much t-to me," Laurence cries out, grabbing onto Garroth's sides. The blonde shakily sighs, his breath trailing the back of Laurence's neck. They both sit on the couch, Laurence still wrapped in Garroth's hug. It was silent for a couple of more minutes, Garroth rubbing circles into Laurence's back and drawing heart shaped figures into Laurence's shoulder. The older soon stopped crying, but he still laid there in Garroth's arms. It was when Garroth began to peck small kisses on Laurence's shoulder when Laurence broke the silence, "Thank you," He takes a sharp breath. Garroth furrows his eyebrows in confusion, but continues his actions nonetheless.
"For?" Garroth asks.
"Being you. And being here. Thank you so much," He thanks Garroth. The blonde just smiles and kisses Laurence's forehead before pulling away from the hug.
"No, Laurence. Thank you," He says, before the front door suddenly clicks and unlocks. A few seconds later the door opens up, revealing a tall tan man with dark brown hair and shining green eyes. He smiles kindly and Laurence and Garroth. He looked as if he had been crying.
"Thank you so much my boy. For watching over my children. I owe you so much," He says, shaking Laurence's hand and patting his shoulder.
"They're like my little cousins. I love them to death, trust me, it's no problem," Laurence responds, pulling the man in for a hug. The man looks at Garroth and smiles softly.
"You helped out?" He asks. The shy blonde nods quickly, grinning after being pulled into a hug by the man.
"I'm Bruno. It's very nice to meet you. I hope those little munchkins didn't bother or annoy you," He chuckles and Garroth shakes his head, his grin widening.
"Oh no! I loved them! They were all such sweethearts. I'm Garroth," Bruno smiles at him and his compliment.
"Well, you should probably get going, huh? I'll take care of them from now on until tomorrow. I have work again," He sighs and Laurence nods with a frown.
"It's okay, I understand. I'm coming back tomorrow anyways," Laurence smirks and Bruno just laughs in response, patting Laurence's shoulder nicely.
"I know you are. Thank you by the way. I'll see you tomorrow," He says as both boys begin to gather their things. After say their own goodbye's they both hop into Laurence's car once again with huge smiles on their faces.
"I love those kids," Garroth giggles. Laurence nods in agreement. "So where are we off to now? Your house?" Garroth questions.
"Yeah. I'm tired, aren't you?"
"Well yeah, but what about your fourth job?" Garroth asks.
"That's an at-home job. All I do is draw and paint things people request and sell it off to them," He says and Garroth nods.
"Do you get requests often?"
"Are you kidding me? I have a whole damn notebook filled with requests," Laurence laughs.
"Is that an exaggeration?" Garroth smirks and Laurence sighs with a playful smile.
"I wish it was."
They both laugh lightly, chatting the rest of the way back to Laurence's house. Laur was glad that Garroth had taken the time to spend the day with him.
