Dexter Bautista's POV
"Bang!" I heard the gun shot.
I have nothing to do but to cover my ears. I'm afraid of hearing such sound. I don't know where that sound comes from.
Wh-what just happened?! I asked myself.
I looked around trying to check the surroundings. I can see a body from that dark place. I was about to check it but she ran away. I saw a body lying down on the ground. I was terrified. But I'm not sure if that's a body because it's too dim.
I quickly went there to check it. Y-yes. I-it is a body!
"Aaahhh!!" I screamed.
Suddenly, I saw images of Kezia and me. All of our memories flashed. I don't know why. Why am I dreaming something like this and suddenly I saw my love?
I woke up from my strange dream by the sound of my alarm clock that's ringing for a while now.
I was sweating like I was surrounded by fire and panting heavily.
As I sit up from my bed and looked at my room, I felt dizzy and the room was all spinning.
"Son!" my mom shouted as she entered my room. "Dexter! Wake up! You'll be late for school."
"I don't feel like going to school today. I want to sleep more." I whinned covering my whole body with a blanket again.
"I said wake up." She said trying to hold back her temper.
Of course, what would I do? I have to stand up from this lovely bed. Uuhh! I scratched my head.
After that, I went straight to the kitchen and I have to eat my breakfast. Bacon, my all time favorite.
While I'm having my breakfast, I remembered my dream last night. I don't know. It's just... Strange... I don't know why I feel this way. It feels like something bad will happen.
"No." I whispered to myself. Drop it Dexter! You shouldn't think that way.
"Why that face son? You look confused." My mom noticed me.
I shaked my head as a response. Hopefully, everything will go smoothly this day.
30 minutes later.
I just arrived at school. I'm studying at an old, well-known, prestigious catholic school, Christian Family School. Yes, it sounds creepy, isn't it? And what's creepier? Our teachers are nuns. But not necessarily all nuns, it depends on our subject.
"Hey bro!" Someone called me. I looked around to check who that was.
It was Raphael. And we continued walking in the hallway.
"What just happened man? You look so tired. Haha." He broke the silence.
"Naahh. I'm fine." I answered.
I don't know. It just feels weird. It's like there's something wrong. But I'm just going to neglect this. It's just a feeling though. This should be a good day. I sighed.
After 10 minutes, finally. We have already reached our department. But that's not it. We also took long stairs. And I can already see it.
"Sección de la Estrella." Yes. That's our section. It translates to Star Section. Yeah, maybe that's what most of the students here think of us that we're the school's favorite. That we are boastful and we get the school's attention. But that's not it. Actually, the school has high expectation with our section. Because most of the students in our section are intelligent and got an average of 90 and above. And when one fails to meet the expected grades, say good bye to the Star Section.
And we entered the classroom, I was surprised. They're not used to be like this. They're all scattered and all look tired and no one wants to break the silence.
"Hi." I greet my classmates awkwardly.
No one didn't greet me back and I was embarrassed. I just scratched my head unconciously.
"They act weird. They are used to be messy and noisy. It's once in a blue moon when they are this quiet. It only happens when we our section gets in trouble. But now... I just don't know." I whispered to myself.
And I bring myself to the last row of seats and at the side of the window for me to see the view. Why Kezia isn't here? She used to be early.
"Guys, have you already checked the announcement for the next activities of English Month?" I asked them trying change the atmosphere.
Their eyes were on me but I didn't get an answer.
Do they have problems with me? They're ignoring me. And after a minute, someone entered the classroom which got everybody's attention.
We all stood up and bow to greet the teacher. She is our first subject teacher today. Everybody is still in silence and you can see the sadness in their eyes even the teacher. I'm confused.
The teacher stands up in the middle of the classroom infront looking down. And she breaks into tears. And it follows by my classmates. W-why?!
"I know you've already got the news." The teacher says while she's sniffling.
Huh?
"It's just hard to accept it. That person who lights up everyone's mood with just a simple smile." She added as she wipes her tears.
"Ma'am, tell me something I don't know." I said with a loud voice wanting to know what happened.
She teared up even more breathing heavily. "For some of you who don't know yet..." She responded with shaky voice but didn't finish what she's going to say.
It's like she's holding it back. It's like she can't say it. But I'm waiting for her to spill it out.
Please, tell me.
