Mason pulled his keys out of the inner pocket and opened the front gate. It was about 4:30 in the evening and Mason was quite tired from his 11 mile trip. Mason was in very good condition emotionally the trip was a pain but it helped him cool his anger. He opened the door and heard someone say “Shut up, he's here.”

He walked through the living room to avoid entering the dining room where he heard the voice. When he almost reached solitude upstairs to his bedroom a familiar figure walked out of the other room.

“Well, look who it is.”  It was Mason's father Malcolm looking as self-righteous and conceited as usual. " Hey Malcolm.” Mason said keeping his pace. “It is time for dinner. Come sit down and eat with us.”

His father was using the “We come in peace” voice with him, slowing down his speech so he understands him even though he knew he understood but just didn't listen. “Hello? Is anyone there?” Malcolm attempted to knock on Mason's head when he smacked his hand and said

“ Screw off, Duke.” Mason walked up the stairs with a smile on his face. He knew his father hated it when he called him that.

Duke, was the name of Malcolm’s boss's dog which Malcolm offered to watch to get the Vice-president promotion. The dog needed lots of work to handle and caused Malcolm a back injury, which was when Maddison asked who was really the dog.

Mason walked in his room and changed out of the suit into something he could run in: A white and blue hoodie where the white part looks like he's wearing a t-shirt over the hoodie and there was golden X across both sides, blue jeans, blue and gold shoes.

As he proceeds to leave his bedroom, he eyes a particular box on his nightstand. Mason questions whether he should go to it and how it would affect him. He made the final decision to open it and grabbed the red stone with a teal hue on the inside. It was a gift on his 14th birthday.

“I got it from my geology class. My teacher said I could keep it and thought you would like it.”

Mason didn’t treasure this gift as he did now. The stone was on a cheap silver chain that he threw over his neck and stuffed in his shirt.

He ran down the stairs and was about to walk out the house when a figure walked in front of him. Malcolm was staring at him with a cold expression.

“I said it’s time for dinner.”
