Mistake or not a mistake

The next morning I woke up and Jake was still holding me. I slowly got up trying not to wake him. I looked for my underwear and put it on. I stood there next to the bed and felt very guilty for sleeping with him. I told him I need time and then I sleep with him. I was very confused and scared.
Soon he woke up and walked my way also putting on his underwear. And he smiles at me. All happy.

Jake- Morning beautiful.

Jen- Morning.

Jake- Are you ok?

Jen- We need to talk about what happened.

Jake- Was it bad?

Jen- No. It was great. But....

Jake- But what?

Jen- It was a mistake. I'm sorry. It shouldn't have happened.

Jake- Jen you need to decide what you want?

Jen-  I need more time Jake. I'm sorry. Last night shouldn't have happened.

Jake- Stop fighting your feelings Jen.

Jen- I didn't mean to hurt you Jake. I'm so sorry.

Jake- I can't deal with this right now. Just decide what you want and let me know.

He walked out of the room and slammed the door.
I felt awful. I hurt him and that's the last I wanted to do.

Jen- I'm a terrible person.

I sighed and got dressed and laid on my bed and started crying I felt bad about hurting Jake. So I just cried and cried.

Later that day I heard the door bell ring. I laid to hear if Jake was going to answer. But nothing. I stood up and walked past the room he was staying in and he wasn't there. And I went to open the door. And it was Toby at the door.
I let him in.

Toby- Hi.

Jen- Hey.

Toby- What's wrong?

Jen- Jake and I had a fight or little argument.

Toby- What happened?

Jen- I slept with him.... And then I told him it was a mistake.

Toby- Poor guy.

Jen- What?

Toby- Jake is crazy over you and you broke his heart. Just because your scared. I know you have feelings for him too. Stop fighting them. It's time you move on and forget about Bryan. It's been 3 years now. I know you have your doubts but take a chance with Jake. He might just be the one.

Jen- I need time.

Toby- I'm just saying. Anyways this is for you. I found it on your door step.

Jen- Thanks.

Toby- I have news.

Jen- What news?

Toby- She said yes.

Jen- I have no idea what your talking about.

Toby- The girl I like so much. I asked her out and she said yes.

Jen- Are you ever going to tell me who she is?

Toby- It's Carmel.

Jen- Well that explains everything.

Toby- What do you mean?

Jen- Ethan made a move on me. He flirted with me yesterday at the bar.

Toby- He's cheating on her. He's such a jerk. How can he do this to her. But she's planning on leaving him.

Jen- Good for her.

Toby- Well I should go. I'm meeting her in an hour.

Jen- Have fun.

Toby- I will. And remember what I said about Jake.

Jen- Yeah I will.

Toby left and I went back to bed. I cried some more and eventually fell asleep.
