Jake in L.A.

Jake's pov: 

I went to Star bucks to get myself some coffee. I finally got a phone again. Not that it helps me. I don't have Jen's number. If I did I would have called her. I do have a plan to show her exactly how much she means to me. I called a few directors to help me with it and one was willing to help me out. And I needed actors to do this plan that I have. I saw Lilo in the Que and she waves at me. I got my coffee and went to her. 

"Hi Jake. Are you back?"

"Yes I came back on Friday. I'm actually glad I ran into to you. I need your help with something."

"Sure. What do you need and how's Jen?"

"Jen left me. But it's ok. I have a plan." 

I told her the plan and she agreed to help me.

"That's wonderful. I'm definitely in."

"Give me your number so I can call you."

"Sure. Do you want Jen's number too?"

I nod at her with a smile. She gave me her number with Jen's and I greeted her and left.

I went to my manager. Harry. I had to make sure he won't ruin my chance to become a big lead actor again. I had to fire him.

He let me in and I stood there in his office. I was mad at him for what he did but also grateful.

"Look who decided to show up. Nice to see you Jake."

"Don't act like you didn't know where I was Harry."

"What are you talking about Jake?"

"I'm talking about you setting me up."

"Oh Jake. I did it for you. You're famous now. It won't be long till everyone in L.A. calls you to come audition for them for lead roles now."

I recorded it. Something Jen taught me was to be smart with jerks like him. 

"You could have killed me Harry."

"And still you are standing here aren't you Jake?"

"Yes because of a miracle I am." 

"You got what you wanted. You're famous. I don't see a problem here."

"You're fired Harry. And I have proof now that you set me up. No one in L.A. will be working for you anymore."

"You can't do this."

"I can and I just did."

"You can't do this to me Jake. I made you come this far."

"Goodbye Harry."

I left his office and went to the studio where El was with singers. I asked someone to go get her and she comes out.

"Hi Jake. What a surprise."

"I'm actually looking for Max."

"Oh. Why?"

"I want him to be my new manager."

El texted Max to get at the studio and she smiles at me.

"He will I just know he will. So how is it going?"

"I've been better in all honesty."

"Look Jake. It's all because of Bryan that Jen left you. She's just dealing with past issues. She's just scared."

"I know."

I told her what I have planned and she yells in excitement. "This is great."

"She means a lot to me."

"You should tell her. Do you want her number?"

"I have it. Lilo gave it to me when I ran into her earlier. She's helping me too."

"My sister is going to love this surprise. I know she will."

Max comes in and he greets me. I greet him and ask him to be my manager. He said yes and we left to go discuss everything he needs to do and to tell him about my plan. 

I took him home and El didn't want me to leave without having dinner with them. 

I had dinner with them and we talked about everything. El told me her sister misses me and that I should really call her. I want to but I also felt like I should give her time. And El said that I should try to win her back. 

I left after dinner and went home. When I got in my house I looked at my phone. 

"I'm going to call her."

I went to her name and called her.

"Jen. Please don't hang up. Just listen."

"I'm listening."

"I just... I want you to know that I'm not giving up on us. I get that this is hard for you. But I'm not willing to let you go."

"Why Jake? This is not going to work."

"I'm coming back next week for your trial. I have something I want to show you. And then we can talk."

"Jake no. Just forget about me. You can't just give up everything for me. I'm not worth it."

"Jen I can't forget about you. There's no way I can. You are worth it to me. I'm not giving everything up for you. But I'm not going to give up on us either. I want to be with you. I miss you and I will do whatever it takes to be with you."

"Why do you want to be with me? What reason do you have to keep fighting for me?"

"I love you Jen. I have ever since our first official date. I fell madly in love with you."

There was a silence for a while.

"I have to go..."

"Don't hang up Jen...."

She hangs up.

"Dammit."

I tried calling her back and she ignores my calls.
