Chapter 5

I ran though the endless grove of trees and slammed myself to the ground crying. I thought my real parents had loved me, but all they cared about was drugs. I tried to remember before being abandoned on the street, if there was any happy loving memories with them, but I couldn't remember them at all.
"Rey?" A voice said. I turned around to see Kylo.
"What are you doing here?" I said quickly wiping the tears off of my face.
"I come out in the woods to escape from reality all the time," he said calmly sitting beside me.
"What's going on?"
I explained that I found out who my biological parents were today, and that they were drug addicts that abandoned me on the street and died from an overdose.
"I'm really sorry Rey," he said sympathetically.
He put his arm around my shoulder.
"I come from nothing," I mumbled ," im nothing."
"But not to me," Kylo said looking into my eyes. We leaned in and somehow kissed. It seemed to last forever. It was simply sweet, and my very first. We slowly pulled away and I blushed.
"I hope that was ok," Kylo said putting his hand behind his neck shyly.
"I've um kind of developed a crush on you recently, so it was fine," I said blushing again.
"Same here," Kylo said looking into my eyes again.
"Call me Ben," he mumbled right before we kissed again. This kiss was a little more intense. He brushed his hands through my hair as I wrapped my arms around his body, his muscular body.
After a few minutes, we slowly pulled away.
"I'll see you tomorrow Rey," he said in a happy tone smiling. He helped me off the ground.
"See ya," I said turning around to leave.
"Wait!" I heard a voice after me. Ben ran up to me as I turned back around.
"I was kind of hoping we could be more than just friends," he mumbled shyly.
"I would like that a lot," I said smiling.
We leaned in and kissed once again. This one was short, but sweet
"That's great, I'll meet you at lunch tomorrow," Ben said walking off.
I walked home with a hop in my step. My first kiss and my first boyfriend in a day?! My day had started off bad with the dog thing and the parents, but this last event had made it the best birthday ever.

   That night, I had trouble sleeping. Mixed emotions circled me as I had sadness and anger about my parents and I missed BB-8 snuggling at the bottom of my feet. Then I had happiness and pleasure with my first kiss and Ben asking me out. This day had certainly been busy, but the shock of it all soon wore me out and I was off to sleep.

   The next day at school, Ben walked me through the halls holding hands, and then walked me to each of my classes. He was so sweet. At lunch, we sat at a table together by ourselves. I'm pretty sure Snokes table and Poes table was looking at us in awe. After school, Ben came over to work on our project.
"You look so beautiful today Rey," Ben randomly said as I was writing down some stage blocking. I looked up.
"Thanks Ben," I said blushing.
"It's crazy that we are kind of like Romeo and Juliet," Ben said, "were star crossed lovers because our friend groups hate each other. But I don't blame them though; Snoke made us do a bunch of things that-"
He stopped.
"That what?" I asked curious.
"I'm going to tell you something I've never told anyone," he said seriously.
I looked at him with wide eyes.
"I know I can trust you," he said looking back into mine.
I nodded.
"Scouts honor."
"Well," he began ," Phasma had this huge crush on Finn. He used to hang out with us, but he began hanging out with Poe and stopped talking to us. Anyways Phasma told Finn her true feelings for him, but he didn't love in return. Well Phasma was crushed especially when she found out he had a crush on the new girl Rose. Phasma and Snoke decided to play a trick on Rose by loosening the brakes on her car. I tried to tell them that was taking it too far, but they didn't listen. They also didn't realize Rose and her older sister Paige shared a car. Paige was the first one to use the car after the brakes were loosened. She went to meet her friends on a rainy night and the car wrecked and Paige died," Ben finished getting teary eyed.
"I could have stopped them," he said.
"Do you think they meant for Rose to die?"
"I don't know," Ben said a tear running down his cheek. I hugged him.
"It's not your fault Ben," I said stroking his hair.
"Why do you still hang out with them since that happened?" I asked.
"Snoke said he would say I was involved and that I did this, if I told someone or stopped hanging out with them."
"I'm so sorry," I said embracing him again.
