Chapter 6

The next week, even after our English project was over, Ben and I hung out after school and ate lunch together. I loved his company and he loved mine. I loved not just his company, but I loved him.
   I was opening my locker when Finn walked up to me.
"Hey Rey."
"Oh hi Finn!" I said closing my locker door.
"So I was wondering if you would like to come to a party at my house this Friday night?"
"Yeah sure!"
"Oh do you mind yo sit with us at lunch today?" Finn asked.
"Sure! Ben's checking out for a doctors appointment before lunch anyway."
Finn smiled then walked off.
  When lunch time came, I sat down at Poes table.
"How's BB-8?" I asked him.
"He sure misses you, but he's doing great," Poe said.
"Rey do you want to come over to my house before we go to Finns party? I can do your hair!" Rose said.
"Sure!" I replied. I had sure missed my friends.
"I still can't believe your dating Ben. How is he?" Finn asked kind of awkwardly.
"Oh he's fine," I replied. "Do you mind if he comes to the party too?"
"Sure," Finn replied trying not to sound annoyed.
"Why in the first place did you start dating him," Poe asked.
"Stop interrogating me!" I shouted. "You all haven't even given Ben a chance yet! You don't even know what he's like!" I said popping up from my table and running out of the cafeteria.
  After school, I was getting my stuff out of my locker when Poe, Finn, and Rose gathered around me. I bolted past them outside.
"Wait!" Finn hollered after me. I turned around.
"What do you want?" I asked annoyed.
"Look, were really sorry about earlier Rey, we didn't mean to sound harsh or judgements about you and Ben. No matter what life decisions  you make, we want to be your friend Rey. Please forgive us," Poe said.
"I'm sorry," I explained ," I was totally overeating and I should've listened to you guys. Of course I forgive you, I hope you'll forgive me."
"Of course," they said as we all group hugged.

    The next day was Friday, the day of the party. After school, I rode home with Rose. Her house was really cute and modern. There were a lot of pictures hanging up of her and her sister together. We went in her room and started getting ready.
"I'm going to tell you a huge secret," Rose said as she slabbed some dark eyeshadow on my eye lids.
"I've really liked Finn for a long time and I think I'm going to tell him my feelings for him tonight," she squealed.
"Go for it, he likes you too!" I said without thinking.
"How do you know? Did he tell you that?" She asked.
"No Ben told me," I said quietly. I secretly hoped Finn still liked Rose. All that stuff had happened near the beginning if the school year.
As Rose did my makeup, I thought about what Ben told me about Paige's car wreck, that it wasn't an accident. I felt like Rose deserved to know what happened, after all it was her sister, but Ben would be sooo mad if he found out I told her.
"Um Rose, I really have to tell you something," I said seriously.
She looked into my eyes.
"You can't tell Ben I told you this," I said then I explained we everything about Phasmas revenge and how Ben tried to stop them.
At this point Rose and I were crying.
"I can't believe Phasma did that, that stupid b*tch, if it wasn't for her, Paige would still be alive!"
"I know I'm so sorry, Rose," I said hugging her.
"Thanks for telling me," she said with a weary smile.
"We need to finish getting ready for the party," Rose said wiping tears off her face.
"We'll face justice tomorrow, but let's party for now, I know Paige would've wanted us to," she said leading me to the room next door.
"This was Paige's room," Rose explained ," we haven't touched her room since the night she died. Sometimes I just lie on the bed, waiting for her to get home from college."
I nodded sympathetically.
"You're wearing that to the party," Rose said to me.
"Yeah I guess so," I said looking at my tee shirt and jeans.
Rise got up and dug in Paige's closet until she found a black dress with a neat strap pattern.
"Try this on," she said motioning towards the bathroom. I did, then came out and modeled it. 
"It looks great!" Rose said.
"I can't possibly wear this to the party, it's your sisters dress," I said starting back to the bathroom to change.
"Please don't you look amazing in it!" She begged.
"Ok, but only since you said so," I said grabbing my purse as we were off to the party.
