Zarah's POV
Family! family isn't just those set of people you were born to and the people you die with and the set of people you are related to via marriage. My first marriage was a roller coaster, I fell foolish in love but I got a few lesson from it, I earned more than a few. When a girl is getting married the verses of patience, trust and believe are recited to her but none to the man she is to get married to and that's the first mistake made during a wedding. A wedding should be a family gathering for the sake of a blissful beginning and yet here I am repeating it for the second time only this time I've grown to understand the up's and downs of life.
"Zarah, its time" My cousin Faiza said as she walked into the room reminding me it was time to leave my parents house for the second time, usually a bride would feel jitters in her tummy but mine was different I felt at peace because I know the man I married wasn't a stranger I met three months ago but a man that has stood by me for four years through my ups and downs and has seen my flaws but has learned to love me for them, he was my home, my peace, my calm, my forever, he was my hayati, not the father of my child but he was the a better father to him than his real father and I had massive respect for him for that.
As I walked out of the house towards the car I turned back to see my family reunited with my dad beside my mum my brothers with their families and the warmest smiles masking their faces and by my side was the man that made me most happy even by just the call of his name, I was finally happy and I had finally fond my peace but my journey wasn't one beautiful enough for fairy tales. It is a story of ups and downs of pain and new love.
"You ready" He whispered into my ears.
"Yes" I said nodding as he helped me into the car and closed my door turning round to join me before signalling the driver to move and taking my hand into his, I laid my head on his shoulder and his hands as if on cue his hands went round my waist and we stayed like that for the whole journey saying nothing but our hearts saying it all till we got to the airport and into the plane sitting by our sides and as the plane ran the runway a single tear ran down my cheek landing his the palm of his hand, he said nothing but adjusted my head on his shoulder and whispered "let it all out beautiful" and with that the water works began and my silent sobbing followed till I fell asleep and was woken up later by the announcement.
We landed at the Grand Bahama International Airport at 7pm in the evening and the whle place was still lit up we hailed a taxi that took us to the Light house pointe at the grand lucayan resorts which was just 50 minutes away from the airport we checked into our suite. Arif and I still hadn't said a word to each other but as we walked in he held my hand stopping me in my tracks I turned to look at him his figure hovering over me as I raised my eyes to meet his and he drew me in for a kiss that was short but filled with passion and peace.
"I've wanted to do that for so long" He said his lips curving into the most genuine smile I had seen.
"I need to wash off" I said turning away to hide my blush.
"Someone is shy" He said smirking and his eyes lighting up with fascination.
"I am not" I said looking any where but his eye'.
"Prove it" He said standing in front of me again
"After my bath" I said smirking and pulling off my veil letting his eyes roam my body as I turned to our boxes that laid by the bed side taking my toilet bag with me.
"Let me help you with your bath" He said holding the door open for me.
"Fine if you want but you'd have to be fast because I am famished and we have to go out for our dinner" I said with a cunning smile filling my face.
"Ill be right behind you" He said running back to his box to pick a few things and without his knowledge I had already shut the door and locked it.
"How smart of you but don't worry ill get back at you" He said after trying to open the door.
We spent the rest of the evening at the hotels restaurant eating and chatting till it was well pass one am and we had to return to our suite. We slept in the comfy of each others warmth cuddling till it was time for fajr and my alarm rang, we rayed in the hotel room with him leading before we huddled back t the bed to enjoy our sleep and he didn't wake me up till the sun was at its peak and judging by the sun it was around twelve in the afternoon. we dressed up at headed into the beautiful city of Bahama accompanied by our travel guide that kept showing us places and by evening we were at the beach sitting in the sad with his arms around my waist as we watched the wave move in sync playing the rhythm of the sea and the sun set giving it beauty that it deserved and we spoke about nothing and everything just enjoying each others company and returned to our hotel at around eleven to eat, pray and sleep and Alhamdulillah my holiday as already going perfectly till I received a message from home.
"She's back" The message read and I knew it only meant trouble was just around the corner. He grabbed the phone from my hand and read the message and asked my most dreaded question. "Who is the message talking about?" He asked passing my phone back to me and another message enter and it was a picture of her sitting with Fahad in his living room in a red Ankara top and blouse and her smile just as wicked as always.
