It's already thursday, and we're almost done with the first week. The homeworks are getting kinda loaded now. And Mattie's getting more interested in Kelsey. I don't know on which one should I feel heavier, homeworks or Mattie on being snatched from me.
My phone vibrated. Mattie's name flashed on the lock screen. It made me smile. I hurriedly swiped my screen...
ASH. NEED UR LITTLE HELP
I didn't take time in wondering what kind of help that he could possibly need, I just hurriedly type a reply.

He instantly replied back.
U'R SUCH A NICE FRIEND, ASH. I'M OK. I JUST WANNA ASK U ABT SUMTHING. :)
I just don't know why won't he just get to the point? 'Cause I'm already having a hunch that it won't be such a good news for me. I texted him back.
JUST SAY IT ALREADY MATTIE. & HAVEN'T U THOUGHT OF CALLING ME INSTEAD IF THIS CONVO IS NOT JUST GONNA TAKE A YES OR A NO TO FINISH?

I kinda jumped when my phone rang. Matt ended up calling me. And I answered my phone.
"Hey"
"Hey, about the..."
"Just say it Mattie. Okay? What is it?"
"New girl."
"And? What about her?" I tried to sound as casual as possible.
"I know it's weird for me to ask if you have her number. And I doubt that you'd have it. Can I atleast know her last name? I kinda want to find her on SNS."
"Pffft! That's it, Matt?! What's wrong with you? It's just a name that you're asking. It's not like you're gonna ask me to convince her to marry you! Geez!"
"That's not a bad idea, Ash. Would you do that for me, then? *laughs*"
"What??"
"You suggested it, Ash. Would you get her to go out with me?"
Oops! Me and my big mouth. I'm the one who created a weapon to destroy my heart. Oh, Matty. You're friggin insensitive!
"Hello? Ash?" Mattie brought me back to here and now from my monologue in my brain. Oh boy, what have I done...
"Yeah? Well, as much as I would like to help you, Mattie. All I could do is to give you her last name. I'm not friends with her, remember? And in case you havent noticed, I don't entirely like her. Her last name's Fullerton, by the way. Is that all?" I gasp for air after my reponse and hear Matt's thank you and ended the call.
I felt sick to my stomach and doesn't feel like doing anything but to lie on my bed. I refused to go down for dinner. I called Effie to tell her about my conversation with Matt earlier.
I should give Effie an award for being the bestest friend ever. She may not know the perdect words to say to make me feel better. But, after an hour, she stopped by my house just to drop off half a tub of vanilla ice cream and a jar of cherries for me to drown my feelings on.
"You're the bestest friend ever, Effie. D'you know that?" I told her while hugging her.
"I know, I'm the most fabulous bestfriend ever, right? Cheer up, Ash. I have to go back home now, though. It's kinda late soooo..."
"Yes, yes, I understand. You should get going. I have an ice cream here to keep me company, remember? Thanks again, Effie. Go home safe, I'll see you in school tomorrow."
And with that, I'm up in my room again. And after I finished my ice cream. I cleaned up and resigned to bed.
