"And how is my number Ninety Nine doing today?" a creepy voice mused above Xiumin's head.
What is this? Xiumin eyed the metal cuffs keeping him down against a white stretcher. The man standing over him was cloaked in white robes, and several other figures were gathered around him.
"Don't be afraid," it was as if the man knew what Xiumin was thinking. "We're only going to do a few tests today and then you're free to go."
Xiumin scoffed. Free to go where?
"My sweet, little Ninety Nine..." Xiumin absolutely hated being called little. "You're an obedient one, aren't you?."
The bizarre man, who Xiumin figured was a doctor (or worse, a surgeon), bent down and stared him in the eyes.
"I'm very fond of your eyes, Ninety Nine..." the doctor caressed Xiumin's cheek, making him uncomfortable. "Like those of a cat's... your eyes are very mysterious. You should be proud,"
"What do you want?" Xiumin whispered, growing impatient of the doctor's small talk.
"What do I want?" The doctor's voice sent chills down Xiumin's spine. "That is all up to you, Ninety Nine. Whatever you want, whatever you do, I will respond accordingly."
Suddenly, a knock was heard on a metal surface. One of the men in white exited the room. Their conversation could be heard faintly.
"And...?"
"The others are ready,"
"Perfect. Bring them in."
Xiumin's stomach churned. 'The others'? He dreaded to know what they might do to them. He couldn't imagine anyone else going through what he was going to be put through. The doctor had mentioned holding several tests today...
Hopefully none of them involved needles.

"Sit down," a woman in a short dress lead Xiumin into another secluded, white room.
Xiumin didn't dare to disobey any orders given to him. He sat down slowly in the chair waiting for him, placing his hands underneath him because he was naturally, extremely cold.
The woman left the room, and the doctor's voice could be heard through a speaker.
"Ninety Nine, can you hear me?"
Xiumin's heart skipped a beat. He nodded his head quickly.
"Good," the doctor proceeded. "We're going to conduct a few tests, like I mentioned earlier. How are you feeling?"
Xiumin's voice croaked as he spoke. "Cold,"
"Cold?" The doctor repeated. "Let's see what we can do." Xiumin's hands were getting clammy, even underneath his thighs. "Let's start with Procedure Five, shall we?"
Procedure Five? Xiumin's head started to spin. Why not start at Procedure One?
Suddenly, the loud whirring of a machine started up. The room temperature felt the slightest bit warmer, but the cold inside Xiumin resonated.
