Junmyeon woke up to an aching back and a stabbing pain in his leg. He rubbed his eyes and found himself in the back of the Café.
He scrambled to the front of the store, pain shooting up his leg. As he peered outside the windows, he realizes it was nighttime.
And he was alone.
In the Café.
He checks the washrooms and cautiously goes outside to see if any cars were in the parking lot. His own car was missing.
"Anyone else here?" He looks around frantically.
"I'm here," Junmyeon hears a familiar voice behind him.
"You," His memory comes flooding into his brain all at once. "You're Lay, I'm supposed to help you,"
"I wouldn't say you are supposed to," Lay admits. "Though your generosity is deeply appreciated. How are you feeling?"
"Horrible," Junmyeon eyes the windows again. "Why are we here?"
"Don't you remember?" Lay asks. "You were passed out for so long, so much had happened."
"That's not answering my question," Junmyeon scratches his head.
"I don't live around here and the only safe place I know in the city is here," Lay continues. "The black vehicles from earlier, do you remember those?"
Junmyeon nods quickly. "Are they still at the hospital?"
"There's only a couple parked at the hospital, I'm pretty sure the men in white are inside."
"Where's is my car?"
Lay shakes his head and chuckles. "You really were passed out for a while. It should be outside the parking garage; the men were after us, you got shot in the leg, and I wrapped your wound up in an alleyway down the street."
"What happened when I was passed out?" Junmyeon rolls up his pants leg and almost faints. "Wh—How did..."
"Don't touch it!" Lay scolds as Junmyeon reaches over to touch his wound. "It will get infected."
"H-how did you take out the... the thing..."
"The arrow?" Lay asks, and Junmyeon grimaces. "I carefully... pulled it out..."
"Alright, that's enough," Junmyeon looked like he was about to hurl. His face was paler than ever. Lay didn't blame him.
"Can I ask you something?" Junmyeon points at Lay then at himself. "How come they shot me in the leg when they were really looking for you?"
"Perhaps... they were looking for you all along. Or the both of us. Maybe they target people who work, well, here."
Junmyeon nods again, and the store became silent quickly.
Suddenly, the store phone rang. Junmyeon jumped. "Who— Why is it ringing now? The Café is closed."
"Don't look at me," Lay sat unbothered on the countertop. "I don't work here,"
Junmyeon gave him a threatening glare. "Don't sit on my counter," he pointed, and proceeded to answer the phone.
"H—Hello?"
"Junmyeon? Is that you?" It was Lee.
"Yeah, hi... it's me, why are you calling?"
