"Where the hell is he?" Chanyeol fumed. He threw the files sitting on his desk onto the floor. Papers were strewn across the room and it looked as though his photocopier threw up.
A particular sheet of paper caught Chanyeol's eye. It was a copy of a newspaper dated from several months ago. Chanyeol's eyes widened as he skimmed over the article.
Pressing a button beside his desktop, Chanyeol paged an assistant.
"Yes, Mr. Park?"
"Get my sister."
"She's in an important meeting right now and requested that no one—"
"It's urgent. Please."
"If you insist."
Moments later, an unimpressed Yoora appears at Chanyeol's door. "What do you want? To be fed with a spoon?"
"No," Chanyeol closed the door carefully behind his sister and pulled out the sheet of paper. "What's this?"
Yoora took the paper and read it over. She didn't look the least bit flattered. "Ok, so? Park Incorporated held some files on two men, so what?"
"What do you mean, 'so what'?" Chanyeol took the paper from his sister. "Put two and two together."
Yoora massaged her temples. "I have no time for this. Put what and what together?"
Chanyeol sat down and grabbed another sheet of paper with an article scanned onto it. "This; 'Two Men Suddenly Missing'... and now an article on how we might have information on them? Do you know what this means?"
"Yes, I do," Yoora replied. "It means that this happened three weeks ago and you're a fool for bringing it up now."
"Yoora, that's not the point!" Chanyeol was getting frustrated. "We could get in trouble... sued even, if we actually don't have any information on the missing–"
"Chanyeol, when did you find out about... that article?"
"Just now on my desk."
Yoora looked like she was about to either cry or laugh. Her response revealed neither. "Chanyeol, where were you when the board got together to discuss all of this?"
"What do you mean?" Chanyeol had no idea of what his sister spoke of. "Are you telling me this was already handled?"
"Um... this article is from three weeks ago. It's settled by now."
"How come I haven't heard about any of this?" Chanyeol stood up suddenly.
"Sit down, idiot." Yoora's voice was stern and steady. "If you weren't fooling around and ruining the Park name with Sehun then you would've been up-to-date with what was going on a few weeks ago."
"I was up-to-date... wasn't I?" Chanyeol asked.
"No. You weren't." Yoora shook her head. "Listen, I have a meeting and I have to—"
"No, stop." Chanyeol motioned for her to sit back down. "Tell me what happened. I know I wasn't paying any attention... just tell me. How did the board settle this?"
Yoora heaved a long sigh but finally sat up straighter. "Do you want to know why Dad brought in that new team? Do you want to know why we're doing risky business with the new board members?"
"They aren't new." Chanyeol looked upset. "We're just working with them. Those people from EX Holdings never worked here and they never will."
"Anyway," Yoora continued. "The men who went missing. Ever since word got out that we had information on them... everyone wanted to get their hands on the files. One of our board members suggested we work with another company to secure the files and make sure that no information - true or false - would be leaked."
"How did word get out?" Chanyeol didn't understand. "Do we even have any files on the men who went missing? We're not the government."
"I don't know." Yoora shrugged. "I don't even know if the rumored files even exist. But somehow, someone told the public, the press that we had information that could lead us to finding who might have taken them."
"EX Holdings had a lawsuit filed against them..." Chanyeol tried to remember the day he was called in on his day off. It seemed like ages ago. "Mr. Han... this man had a lawsuit filed against them, maybe he has something to do with it."
"Maybe," Yoora didn't seem impressed.
"Was this news leaked before or after we started working with the other company?"
"Before..." Yoora's face flushed with realization. "Oh no."
"'Oh no' is right, Sissie." Chanyeol got up suddenly. "Do you know what this means?"
"I know what it means!" Yoora stood top, as if getting even with her brother.
"There's a mole on our board team. And thanks to them, the whole company is under a false rumor. We are at stake of getting sued... why didn't any of you run this by me?"
"Don't raise your voice at me." Yoora snapped back. "At least I'm not the one who's filed under a rumor labeled 'drug dealer'."
Chanyeol opened his mouth to talk again but closed it. He took a deep breath and started again. "This is somewhat starting to make sense."
"What do you mean, 'somewhat'?"
"Ok first of all, you lied." Chanyeol called his sister out.
"What do you mean?"
"You told me everything was fine, but it's not. We're still at risk. And I didn't agree to any of this."
"No offense Yeol, but you don't really get to agree to anything. You're just family. And you should've been at that board meeting, so really, it's your own fault."
"Let's not play the blame game, ok?" Chanyeol closed his eyes. "Who were the missing people, anyway?"
"It's on the back of the sheet, look."
Chanyeol flipped over the page and his heart skipped a beat.
"What?" Yoora asked. "Do you know those guys?"
Chanyeol didn't know how to feel.
Beside a picture of a tall, blonde man was Kyungsoo.
