**Note: This first chapter progresses fast as I want to get to the bonding part yet I want you all to have back story. Sorry. 😔
Why? Why is life like this? I don't understand. Lance is only another guy. Another...beautiful, tan skinned, sparkling, blue-eyed...ugh.
I groan as I flop my head back onto the rainbow pillow perched in my bay window. My orphanage owner tells me how it is only a phase, yet, lately, I've been thinking different.
They claim that I will get over it soon. I can't. Lance McClain's face is permanently stuck, swarming around inside my head.
***The bell rings, signaling the end of class. I walk out the door slowly after slinging my back pack over my shoulder. My two friends, Ace and Pidge will probably be waiting for me in the lunchroom.
I slide in between and out of the crowd of people waiting to get lunch. I then sit down at my lonley table, occupied by my best, and only, friends. They understand me better than anyone. " 'Sup, Emo Samurai?" Pidge says, a sly smile on his face. I groan. Correction. One of my friends understands me better than anyone.Ace smiles and shakes his head, his brown hair ruffling against his round pale face. "C'mon, Pidgeon. You know he hates that nickname." He retorts, grinning. Pidge tightens his hands into fists. "Do not call me Pidgeon!" Ace tries his best to keep a straight face. "Sorry, I took it one step too far." He responds, pausing. "I meant Pidgeot."
"Why, I ought ta--!" Pidge yells. He's lucky the lunchroom is loud, or else he would have gotten a pink slip. It's too bad that someone else heard it.
While I was in the middle of my laughing fit, (i want to say gibbion so bad) Chuck strides over. "Well well well. If it ain't the 3 gay guys."The trio's face went pale as 4 jocks stood before them. Chuck's blonde hair curled at the tips but was effortlessly straight at the top. He was the model type, buff, strong... Yet extremely dumb.
"Back off, Chuck." I warn him. By now, everyone in the cafeteria was watching in silence. Chuck stifles an ugly laugh. "Make me." He says, the slightest hint of humor in his statement. I furrow my eyebrows. I throw a punch, yet Chuck grabs my fist and twists it. I hear a choir of 'ooo's echo throughout the lunchroom.
Chuck then strikes a nerve. "Too bad your little gay ass can't do a thing. No wonder you're an orphan."At that moment, I swiftly swept my leg under him and made him fall, before kicking him in the nose. He fell back to the wall. His minions are already cowering in fear in the corners. I walk up to Chuck and grab his Garrison jacket. "Now listen here, Jackass. You made two mistakes. Number one. You insulted my family. No one talks about my family the way you just did. Number two... You insulted my community. Every gay person in here has a right, and that right is not yours to take. You may act big and and bad, but we know that behind that whole 'dickhead' façade, you're just a pussy. A cold, wet, soulless, scared pussy. Now, if you'll excuse us... We have to eat lunch. Got that?" I finish. Chuck nods rapidly. I chuckle, releasing him.
The cafeteria is silent before slowly drifting back into the loud noise everyone was used to. That was the moment that Lance finally noticed him. Lance was impressed. Super impressed.
*** 3 years later... ***
*** Setting: Everyone has graduated and Volron defeated the Galra empire. 2 years after the defeat. ***
Keith hates this. The fame was too much. Fangirls and some gay fanboys knocking him over every where he went. No one knew what Keith was, or how he got so strong. No one understood his back story.
Currently, the black-haired man was up on stage in front of everyone, watching Shiro deliver a speech. Allura had recently discovered what makeup was and had joyously caked her face in powder, adding on an excessive amount of lipstick. She looked pretty nonetheless.
Shiro was wearing a tux and white hand gloves over his hands, which looked really formal. He had his hair slicked back with hair gel, but not too much to where he looked like Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter.
Hunk wore a tux also, except his being a baby blue. He had on a white wristwatch and was staring at the ground the entire time. Pidge had on a green button up with a black tie over her chest. Her jeans were a dark blue, and her shoes were flats. Her hair was the same, except Matthew made her wear a light green bow in the back.
Coran's hair, unlike Shiro's, was greased way-y-y to much. It almost looked like cardboard. His mustache, on the other hand, was pure perfection. Despite many protests from Allura, wore his same outfit as usual. Keith was in his normal everyday outfit, much like Coran.
Lance was the only one not onstage. He was in a black tuxedo that matched Shrio's, and he was flirting with girls at the far back of the crowd. None of his words could be heard, fortunately. He was whispering.
According to Keith, Lance was the most annoying thing to ever have existing. Keith hated his dancing, Keith hated his voice, Keith hated his face, Keith hated his lame jokes, Keith hated everything about Lance. Except his smile. Keith would never admit it, but he liked his smile.
Lance, though, admired all of Keith. He looked up to him. Keith was strong, agile, handsome... everything Lance longed to be. The one and onlty thing Lance hated about Keith was his hair. His hair looked soft, but it was unkempt and messy, especially the mullet.
Lance and Keith were enemies. Rivals. Always trying to one-up the other in some way. In any way. It was their hobby. But something was about to change.
Shirk walked over after the speech and Lance had reluctantly come back to the group.
"Alright team. Pack your bags. Next stop, planet Earth."
