We all ended up at the same ice cream parlor Cole and I went to on my first day here in sacramento. Looking around the place, nothing seemed to have changed and on a warm summer night like tonight there were plenty of people getting ice cream just like us.

To be honest the place was packed and it made me wonder if the other ice cream parlors Stacy had owned were just as popular. I would assume so. I don't think she would have expanded if they weren't. Also, her ice cream was to die for. It wasn't some name brand like ben and jerry's or turkey hill or bryer's but they were her own recepies and they definitely beat any competition.

As soon as we walked in though, Stacy recognized us right away and immediately came to take our orders.

"Hey well if it isn't my favorite crew!" she beamed.

"Stacy!" they all cheered her name and she just shook her head at their loud behavior.

It didn't take long for her to get our orders since we all pretty much knew what we already wanted.

"It'll be right up guys," she smiled and turned to walk away but caught herself and turned to me, "Oh hey Lake, do you have a minute?"

I glanced at Cole but he had already started coversation with everyone else. "Yeah, sure." I stood from my seat and followed her to the bar and sat at one of the stools as she made her way to the other side where the kitchen was.

"What's up?" I asked trying not to sound too suspicious.

"Someone came by earlier and dropped off this and told me to give it to you," she held up a sealed envelop and my eyebrows pulled together in confusion of who could possibly be giving me a letter and about what.

The only people I could guess of was Chase or Shane but even so they didn't know exactly where I was and most likely wouldn't be here.

"Who was it?" I asked as she slid me the letter over the counter.

"I don't know, I've never seen them before. They said they were a friend of yours," she said assuming it would help clear things up but when the confusion still hadn't left my face she continued describing them, "Brown scruffy hair, a little bit of stubble, looked to be about 20-something..." she trailed off.

It didn't help but I just nodded as someone called her name and she went to go tend to them.

Carefully, I turned over the envelop and noticed a very familiar stamp on the back. It was an elaborate design of the letter 'K' and I knew all too well what that meant.

I continued to pull out the letter that read,

Dear Lake,

You thought you were safe. You thought I was gone; locked up forever. But you were wrong.

I'm coming for you. Don't try to run. Cause I won't stop. Not till I've won.

You're going to pay. That I promise you. And don't worry. I always follow through.

-You know who

I flipped the note over hoping for more, hoping for an "lol, just kidding!" but that was it. I tried not to panic yet a million of questions were popping into my head.

"Are you ok, Lake?" Stacy asked noticing what I assumed was my frieghtened face.

Quickly I snapped out of it, surpressing all of my thoughts and emotions in order to put a smile on. "Um yeah, it was just an old friend who noticed I was in town and didn't have my number," I covered.

"Oh, yeah? Maybe you'll be able to meet up then and I could get a more proper introduction," she laughed geniuenly trying to get me to lighten up, but she didn't realized how much she did not want to be introduced to him.
