Absence

"Dada! Wook!" Pax giggled pointing to the penguins swimming around in the tank. I nodded picking up Pax so he could get a better view. I smiled, watching as a penguin sat close to its egg, keeping it warm under the cold temperatures of the habitat.

"Look pumpkin it's the mommy penguin with its baby." I smiled pointing to the egg. He giggled.

"Actually that's the Daddy penguin." I heard a soft voice say and I looked over to see a smiling man in a zoo uniform... A very attractive man in a very ugly zoo uniform...

"Oh... my bad..." I smiled laughing a little. Pax hugged my shirt tightly as zoo man made his way over to us.

"It's ok. It happens all the time. I'm Owen." He chucked flashing his bright white teeth at me.

"Flint... and this Pax." I said holding my baby closely... he could be a creep for all I know...Although if that's the case, I will admit he is the hottest creep i've ever met... I don't usually have a thing for red heads.

"Hi..." Pax giggled and Owen smiled.

"I'm guessing you guys are with the band that's filming the music video?" He asked, pointing back towards the giant set, I nodded.

"My friend works with them and he wanted us to come by so I was like why not, free admission to the zoo." I said laughing a little and Owen nodded, laughing softly.

"I was just about to feed the penguins so if you guys stick around a minute or two..." He said and I looked over at Pax for an answer.

"Yes! Dad stay!" He clapped and I nodded.

"I guess were staying then."

"Sweet. I'll be right back."

He gave me another smile before disappearing behind a nearby door. It only took a few minutes before I saw him walking out into the penguin tank, a few of the black and white birds happily waddling over to him. He waved to us, and Paxton looked at him with curious eyes as he tossed some fish to the penguins.

He continued to feed the penguins, making funny faces at Pax who giggled hysterically, watching with internment. It wasn't until Owen had gone to imitate the penguin, only to slip and then fall flat on his ass before I started laughing too.

I could tell he was laughing as he got up, shaking his head at himself before he disappeared back through the penguin habitat. He reappeared a few minutes later, a soft looking penguin plush in his hand. "For you." He smiled presenting the toy to Pax. Paxton giggled taking the toy from him.

"Tank 'ou" He said still giggling and blushing a little. Is my baby crushing? That's absolutely adorable. I kissed Pax's cheek with a smile.

"You're very Welcome." He smiled and I watched as Pax snuggled the toy close.

"That was really fun, thank you so much." I smiled and he nodded.

"Actually..." He said with a soft, bashful smile. "I was about to go feed the bears... they're pretty cool too if you'd like to come with."

"What do you think Pax?" I asked and he smiled brightly, nodding his head. I smiled back at him before looking over at Owen. "We're in."

"Cool." He nodded, before motioning us to follow him. I put Pax back in his stroller before following after Owen. "So are you guys from around here or just visiting?" He asked.

"Around here, we live about 20 minutes away." I said and he nodded.

"That's cool, I'm a little over half an hour." He smiled and I nodded. Pax popped out of his stroller, and before I could tell him to sit back down, he grabbed Owens hand, walking in between the two of us.
