Yuuri opens his computer cautiously. The ball of nerves in his stomach tightens as he clicks on the Skype icon. He can't help but chew at his bottom lip. What if Viktor doesn't like him? What if he finds him ugly? Yuuri doesn't know how he's react if Viktor ended up not liking him after this. It would make their weeks of talking a waste.
Viktor runs his hands over his face. He can do this. He can video call the most beautiful boy he's ever seen. It isn't that hard. But what if Yuuri doesn't like him? He stares at his computer screen, eyes glued to the 'call' button. Viktor acts on a whim, clicking it quickly.
Yuuri jumps as his computer begins ringing. The name 'Viktor Nikiforov' shows on his computer screen. He sits up straighter, leaning against the headboard of his bed. His finger clicks the 'accept' button. Instantly, the face of the most beautiful boy appears on his screen.
"Hello Yuuri," Viktor says. He smiles. The blush on the ravens beautiful face has to be the most breathtaking sight Viktor has seen in his life. Yuuri is surprised by the lack of an American accent.
"H-hi," Yuuri squeaks. The boy buries his face in the collar of the pink sweater he's wearing. Viktor chuckles, finding every move the raven makes to be adorable.
"I know it's morning over there, so how has your morning been so far?" Yuuri uncovers his face in order to answer. Viktor takes the chance to admire every single inch of his face. He's beautiful, mesmerizing even.
"I-it's been fine. Normal really. My mom dragged me out of bed at seven for class, even though I don't have class today. She made me a big breakfast to make up for it. O-other than that the only other thing I've done is play the piano. I sent you the video of me playing it," Yuuri says. Viktor can't see, but he can tell he's fidgeting with his hands in his lap. Is he that nervous?
"You did, Yuuri. It was beautiful. You're a very talented player. I wish I could play an instrument like that." He tries his best to comfort Yuuri. Viktor doesn't want him being uncomfortable.
"S-stop! You're making me blush!" Yuuri covers his face with the pink sleeves of his sweater. Viktor chuckles.
"It's true! Do you have any other talents that I don't know about," Viktor asks him. Yuuri moves his hands out of face, his cheeks as pink as a Sakura petal.
"I-I sketch sometimes. I have a book full of them. Would—would you like to see them?" Viktor is already nodding.
"Of course I do! Show me them!" Viktor's excited. It's obvious. Talking to this beautiful boy is overwhelming. He watches as Yuuri turns and leans off the bed, his face disappearing from the cameras view. It only takes a few moments before he's sitting in front of the camera again, a big black notebook in his hands.
"Here are some of them. There are some water colors in here somewhere..." the raven haired boy flips through the notebook, brows furrowed in concentration. Viktor watches him expectantly. Finally Yuuri turns the book around, showing Viktor a drawing.
"Here's a water color. It's of a Sakura tree." Viktor is amazed at his talent. The colors go outside of the lines, but in an artistic way. There's so much detail in the tiniest places.
"Wow. That looks beautiful! How can you do stuff like that? I'm so jealous!" The boy lets out a squeak and blushes brighter than the water colors on the page. Viktor feels his heart melt. How can he be this adorable?
"What about you? D-do you have any talents," Yuuri asks. He sets the notebook down, carefully closing the cover. Viktor tilts his head, as if he needs to think about it.
"Hmm. I mean, I can ice skate, but you already know that. Oh! I can knit! My neighbor had me knit a sweater for her dog since it's getting cold here." Yuuri's eyes widen.
"That sounds so adorable! I used to have a dog when I was younger, but he passed away. I've been trying to convince my mom to let me get another one." Yuuri sighs. Viktor smiles. It's a giddy, happy smile.
"I have a surprise for you then. C'mere girl," Viktor calls. In an instant, a fuzzy ball of brown fuzz with four legs appears on his lap. Yuuri gasps, covering his mouth with his sleeves.
"Oh my god! She looks so adorable! What's her name?" Yuuri is invested entirely. The dog looks exactly like his old one.
"Her name is Makkachin. Look Makka! My friend Yuuri wants to see you!" He turns the dog to where she can face the screen. Makkachin's tongue lolls out of her mouth. Yuuri can just barely see her tail wagging behind her.
"She looks—" Yuuri pauses as he hears his mom call from the main room. Viktor looks at him curiously.
"Yuuri what's wrong?" Viktor let's Makkachin go. She wanders somewhere out of the camera's view. Yuuri turns to look at Viktor again.
"O-oh! My moms calling for me. I'm afraid I'll have to go." He frowns. Yuuri doesn't want to hang up. He wants to talk to Viktor all day. Sadly his responsibilities at the hot springs will limit that.
"Awe. That sucks. Can we do this tomorrow? It's getting late here, so I'll need to sleep soon. I have late classes tomorrow, so I'll call you then. If you're free that is." Viktor bites at his lower lip. He doesn't want to hang up. He wants to continue talking to Yuuri, even if he has to stay up all night.
"Yeah. We can do this tomorrow. I'll message you later, okay?"
"Alright. Bye Yuuri." Viktor smiles. Yuuri blushes yet again, fixing his glasses with a finger.
"Bye, Viktor." He smiles shyly. Yuuri takes a moment to study Viktor's face before it disappears from his screen. He shut his computer, rushing down to help his mom with whatever she needs.
