"But mom! I don't want to move back in Paris! I like it here! And plus why can't I stay! Your the world's famous chef and you have enough money for the both of us"
20 year old Marinette whined as her mother crossed her arms

"This is not about money Marinette." Sabine shook her head "This is about you"

"Me? What's wrong with me?"

"Everything!" Sabine rubbed her temple "You became distant ever since your father died. You started locking yourself in your room, cutting yourself-"

"H-how did you... "

"I'm not blind Marinette" Sabine rolled her eyes and held her daughter's hand "I'm just worried. I want you to spend a year with your Dads old friend, I figured it'll make you feel better? "

Marinette rolled her eyes and looked down "Why would that make me feel better? "

"It'll help you clear your mind." Sabine smiled "It'll help you accept that your f-father i-is... " she sighed "Listen I just want the best for you ok? Don't think that I'm doing this because I don't love you anymore. Marinette, I love you with all my heart that it would break me to make you leave"

"Then don't make me leave! You love me right? Can't I just stay? "

"Honey, you can't. I'm doing this for you. I know what's best. Just trust me. Ok? "

Marinette took a breath before nodding. Sabine smiled and hugged her daughter before telling her to pack

"Now remember. The place might be a bit scary but it's not. ok? Don't be afraid."

"Yes mom... " Marinette said before grabbing her suit cases and walking down the stairs

She looked at her mother one last time before dropping her suit cases and running towards her, giving her mother a tight hug

"I love you mom... "

"I love you too...."

"What the hell?"

Marinette examined the mansion that was in front of her. She was not expecting that the house looked like this. Sure it was big but old..., the house really looked creepy and it looked like no one lived here for centuries! But she took her courage and rang the doorbell.

It wasn't long until the gates jerked open, startling the girl.
She gulped and entered. She knocked at the door expecting someone to open it, but instead. It opened itself. She breath out a shaky breath before hesitantly entering the Mansion.

"H-hello? Is anyone h-here?"
She looked around but found no one "I-its M-Marinette, M-my dad is a f-friend o-of y-yours? T-Tom Dupain-C-Cheng..."

No answer...

She was starting to think that she had the wrong address but before she could exit the house the door closed startling the girl then a voice was heard

"Ahhh, Marinette. Am I right? "

"W-wha... "

Marinette diverted her eyes on the stairs and there stood a tall man with his hands on his back.

The man smiled, slowly walking down the stairs. As soon as he was in front of Marinette he offered his hand which Marinette hesitantly shook it.

"I'm Gabriel. Gabriel Agreste. A friend of your father. Do you want me to give you a tour in the house? " he offered

"Y-yes sir... U-uhmm w-where do I put my suitcases? " she stuttered

"oh" he smiled "No need to worry. I'll have the maids take them to your room. Just leave it there"

"Y-yes sir... "

"And please... Do call me uncle. I feel old if you call me sir. After all I am your fathers best friend " he chuckled before gesturing for her to follow

She smiled and happily followed him as he started the tour.

~

"And this is your room"

"Thank you si......rrr- I mean! Uncle!" she awkwardly laughed

"No problem! And if you ever need anything don't hesitate calling me " he smiled

"Ok, thank you again uncle... "

"No sweat... And oh, it's almost dinner. Better you changed some comfortable clothes. I'll introduce you to my Son and Daughter later."

"Yes uncle" she smiled before he walked away.

She entered her room and saw her clothes placed on the cabinets neatly. Her jaw dropped. She didn't know that the maids would arrange them. She shook the thought before heading to the bathroom.

~

"Marinette! I'm glad you made it"
Gabriel said who was now sitting on the dinner table

Marinette just smiled before taking her seat. She looked around the room curiously before Mr. Agreste coughed

"Sorry that they're taking long"

"No it's ok. I don't mind" she smiled gently

A high pitched voice was heard

"Dad! Look what Adrien did to my hair!! "

"Pfft! It was only an accident! "

"Shut up! You did this on purpose!"

"Did not! "

"Did to!"

"Did not!"

"Did t-"

"enough!"

Their eyes diverted on Mr. Agreste who was looking pissed. He rubbed his temple and gestured for his children to sit down. They obliged and sat down. They looked at Marinette then back to Mr. Agreste.

"Oh yes! Marinette, meet my son and daughter. Adrien and Chloe"
