Leah P. O. V.

He looked me in the eyes and nodded his head slightly giving me a soft peck on the lips.

"The sad part is... I love you too."

The rain drops fell from his hair and down his face but I could still see the tears falling from his eyes. He turned around and walked away without a sound and got in his car and left. My heart cracked and it felt so real because I couldn't breathe. Our last kiss felt like our first with my heart racing and stiff body unable to move but crave another. I saw him drive off and the thunder that cracked loudly in the sky. My electricity went out and all I could hear was raindrops hitting the concrete and silence within the night. My cellphone rang and with the realization of what happened, I finally snapped back to reality. I walked towards it and saw Tre's number and answered with the smallest bit of strength I had in my voice.

"Hello?"

"I just have one question, what made you realize you loved me?"

"When you told me your story of your dad. You were different than any guy I ever known who spoke so confidently about their hurtful past."

"I understand. I just don't understand once you knew you loved me that you still did this. Goodbye Leah."

The beep was heard through my line of the phone. All of this rage inside me was felt because of Tay but I couldn't be mad at him; it takes two people. My knees hit the ground and so did the towel I let go. Thunder kept striking as if it was mocking my pain. I couldn't take it anymore but I didn't know what to do but just ignored everything.

"Sweetie are you okay?"

I heard her footsteps rush toward me as the front door closed and a blanket wrapped around me once I sat on the couch with me in her arms still frozen.

"Leah, what happened?"

"M-My heart. It's b-broken."

Her lips softly kissed my cheek and the warmth of her chest healed a small portion of my heart but no where near fixed it.

"Break ups happen all the time sweetheart. The main thing is to focus on the future. If you really love this guy, he'll come back and if he doesn't, then it wasn't meant to be."

Her words ran through me and not the slightest bit of strength came to me. I broke down and cried on her chest replaying the scene of the breakup. It was worse when I dreamt it. The agnozing pain strunk in my chest all at once and nonstop tears that flooded down my face didn't stop. I woke up in my bed in the afternoon to the sound of my phone ringing which gave me a headache.

"What?"

"Well then. What happened?"

"He broke up with me."

"Damn Lee I'm so sorry. You want me to come over with chocolate chip cookies and ice cream? I have news so it can get your mind off it."

"Yeah. You can come over. See you then."

A few minutes went by as the doorbell rang. I heard distant voices of greetings and footsteps to my room.

"Hey Lee. How you holding up?"

"Horrible. Where's the food?"

"I got it."

She handed me the Rocky Road ice cream with a container of fresh baked cookies and sat on the bed with sour patches and sprite in her hand.

"So what's the news?"

She sighed and closed her eyes as she spoke.

"Me and Mannie had sex after we left the bowling alley when we all went."
