I placed the empty cup on the desk as I opened my cell door. It was all empty, freaky almost.

"You missed pizza." I look to my right to see a female officer with her hands clasped together, staring at me.

"Not a massive fan of pizza." I respond as I exit my cell and close the door.

"Right," she scoffs. I look at her, then at my feet. "your job assignments finally came. Here they are." The officer reached into her back pants, walking forward and shoving the paper into me. I took it, looking back to her and asserting a thanking smile. She gave the same smile back before she walked out of H and around the corner.

I look back to the paper in my hand, slowly unfolding it to reveal everything. "Laundry?"

I entered the shower block happily. Everyone was on work duty, meaning I had this whole facility almodt to myself. I chose the far back shower. There's always still officers that Bea warned me about. I undressed, then using the towel to guard my body. I walked into the shower, closing the curtain and taking off my towel. I turned the shower on, stunned by the cold water. I was so absorbed in the water that I was standing in it for 10 minutes before I snapped back into reality.

"How far along are you?" I ask Doreen as I prepare her and I a cuppa.

"5 months- did you feel it?" Doreen asks excitedly.

"Awh-" Jess reacted to the baby kicking against her hands. I smiled, turning back around to the cuppa.

"Ah! It did it again!" Doreen laughed loudly along with Jess.

"Hey, hey Dor.." I turn around to see the other chick approaching Doreen. "I heard you lost your shampoo in the riot. You can have mine. I don't need it anyway."

"Just stick it up your ass Boomer. I don't want nothing from you." Doreen growled.

"I got 7 years 'cos of that bitch." Boomer growled back.

"I don't care."

"Yeah well you would care if you got 7 more years, wouldn't ya!" Boomer shouted. Bea came from her cell thankfully, approaching us.

"Okay." Bea shouted for their attention.

"Serves me right for tryna be nice." Boomer growled and headed back for her cell.

"Kay. Mail count ladies." Mr Jackson called. I stepped away from the coffee to go to him.

"Smith." He called as the rest of us approached.

"Anything for me Mr J?" Boomer asked.

"No, sorry Boomer." Mr Jackson answered.

"Awh yeah right. Dumb fuck family can't read can't write aye." Boomer laughed.

"Dor." Mr Jackson called. "Jess, and Delilah."

Mr Jackson made eye contact with me as he said my name. I fully approached him, taking the letter that was given to me.

"Thank you." I whispered, reading the outside.
