Colin's lips still throbbed from kissing Vi. It felt like a dream but his whole body said otherwise. It all seemed like a trance or watching a movie because kisses like that as far as he's concerned only happen in movies but he felt every single thing. He was wondering if she felt it just as intensely or if she was focused- only focused on teaching him how to kiss. He memorized every touch, every sigh, every contact, her taste on his tongue, her scent. Everything. His skin still buzzed with her touch. His heart still hasn't slowed down, it felt like he was plucked from a dream that he desperately wanted to jump back into. Desperately. One more, oh God, one more.

He wanted to hope.

Vi didn't mention anything about a boyfriend, right? Maybe if he asked her out. Maybe...

"You're not listening to me!" Hermione cried out.

Colin sighed, "Hermione, I can't stay away."

Just the thought of staying away was revolting- he wanted to throw up. He wants to be beside her. It's alright. He knows he can take care of her. He has enough blood to give when she craves it- she won't crave it anymore though because they'll work through it. It will be okay.

Hermione shook her head, "Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. I knew this would happen!" He was being dragged on the hallway by a girl half his size and he didn't care. It was empty anyway, everyone was probably in their clubs or watching the Quidditch teams practice. Hermione was talking- each word an affirmation of her rightness and every other a blame on Colin's part but he couldn't care less.

He just kissed Vi.

He always thought that he might lose his lip virginity on a dare or while he's drunk. He never wanted to kiss anyone so badly. He never wanted anyone like how he wanted her. Period.

Nothing was registering. He was in a blissful haze.

And the best part was that she wanted to kiss him. She didn't find it weird or disgusting or the idea appalling. She just went for it.

She just did.

He stopped walking and Hermione was not able to pull her with him.

The kiss was nothing to Vi. She didn't feel it as intensely as he did because it meant nothing to her and here he was over the moon for her. But what was he expecting? Vi thinks he's in love with some other girl when it was her he was talking about from the start.

"Come on, Colin! Don't stall! We have to talk to McGonagall!"

Colin blinked. "But why?" The disappointment was replaced with worry and anxiety.

"Because this isn't right, Colin!" Hermione finally let go of his arm and faced him. She pointed on his chest, "You let her feed on you, am I right?"

The outside scenery suddenly looked much, much, much interesting. Colin looked away. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Liar! She's messing with your system, Colin. Vampires have an aura- once you don't die after they gave you a 'vampire's kiss' they can twist you and make you do things for them. It might be less for her because she's only half but you're still affected. It isn't love, Colin. It's just venom. What you need to do is-"

"You make it sound like it's disgusting," Colin protested. He rarely got annoyed but he felt like if he could get a pencil and snap it in front of her as an act of defiance or maybe rip several pages of a book just to show his spite he would do so without an ounce of remorse. "You make it sound like you know everything, Hermione. You don't know what it feels."

"But I do know. She has no self control. I just want to help- I just want all of us to be safe, Colin. I just want Hogwarts to always be safe. She's trouble, I know that everyone deserves a friend but, Colin, just let the girls handle her. Please. At least they are less susceptible to her aura. She already bit you, please don't let her-"
