"W-what?" I stutter.
"You heard me. I love you, Savannah. Be my girlfriend?" He asks and I smile through my tears.
"I'd love too, but Dallas and I are-"
"Go break up with him." He states and I nod.
"Okay." I say but when I do I hear footsteps behind me. The kind that I have heard too many times before and I shiver.
"You're not dating, him." I turn to see Jake, my ex-boyfriend.
"Savannah, who's this?" Hayes asks and I don't turn away from Jake, afraid that if I do, something bad might happen.
"I," Jake emphasizes, "am her ex." he smirks. After a while of awkward silence he speaks again.
"So who is she breaking up with? And who is she gonna date?" He asks and walks over to me and tries to put his arm around me but Hayes pulls me back.
"Come on, Savannah." Hayes pulls my arm and I feel Jake pull me back.
"If you go with him, you'll regret it. You know what happens when you don't listen." Jake says and squeezes me arm hard.
"Ouch, stop." I say and he laughs.
"Stop? Remember the last time you said 'stop'?" He says and I shiver at the thought.
"Savannah, come with me."
"No, come with me." They start arguing in the middle of the damn hallway and I start to cry.
"So? Who's it gonna be? Me or him?" Hayes asks and I look at both of them. If I go with Jake, I risk going back home and back to hell. If I don't, Hayes could be at risk. If I love Hayes, I'll go with Jake. I sigh and shake from Hayes' grip and walk to Jake.
"What the fuck, Savannah?"
"I have to. I'm sorry." Those were the last words I said before Jake pulls my arm and walks into the gym where Dallas was getting ready to leave.
"Who's this?" Dallas glares.
"I, am her ex, and she is here to break up with you." Jake says and I look down. He nudges my side hard and I look up, sighing.
"Savannah? Is this true?" Dallas asks.
"Yes. You don't even care anyways. You fucking asshole." I finally got the courage to say it and it feels great.
"Well, fine." He says and walks away with his friends laughing.
"Now that, that's over, it's time to bring you back to where you belong." He smirks and we leave the school.
Back to hell I go.
