Chapter 38

"Sky?" I hear Hayes ask loudly from his room. What the hell?

"Skylynn!!" He shouts again. It's 3 am and Skylynn has been gone for a day now. I get up to go to his room and find him in his bed kicking and screaming.

"Hayes?" I whisper and he starts tossing and turning in his sleep.

"Skylynn! Savannah!" What the actual fuck is going on?"

"Hayes, it's me, Savannah.." I walk over carefully to his bed and shake him.

"No! Stop!" He shouts and I back away.

"Hayes!" I say and walk over quickly and shake him. Ew, he's so sweaty. He calms down after a while and his eyes flutter open.

"Savannah, oh my gosh." Hayes sighs in relief and pulls my arm to sit next to him.

He wraps his arms around me and kisses my cheek.

"Are you okay?" I ask him and he shakes his head.

"No. We have to get Sky back." He says and I sigh.

"I wanna get her back to. And I think I know how. But the only way we can is during the day."

"I can't sleep knowing where she is... What could happen to her? What did they do to you at that age?" He asks and I don't respond, "Savannah, answer me." He demands and I sigh.

"If I told you. You'd- Never mind. I don't want to say it. Now can I leave now? I'm tired." I yawn and try to get up but he pulls me back.

"Don't leave me." He pulls me back in his arms and pulls the covers over us, "I can't sleep. So stay with me. Maybe I'll sleep knowing your here with me." He chuckles and I smile.

"Well then, goodnight. Or morning.. Whatever you call it." I say and snuggle into his chest and fall asleep.

"Are you ready?" I ask Nash, Cam, and Hayes.

"Yes. Now let's go." Hayes storms out the front door and sits in the car. Damn, he is ready.

If you're wondering why Cameron is here, it's because we need someone to look out for us. Incase my father or Jake shows up.

We get into the car and Cameron drives to my old house.

"You alright, Savannah?" Hayes asks and I shrug.

"I don't know. Honestly."

And I don't. I really don't know if I'm "okay." Like I guess you could say I'm in-between happy and sad. I'm not depressed all the time now. Ever since Hayes showed up and basically saved my life.. Things have changed. Yet are still the same. I have the same habits, the same thoughts. But my mood is better. In way..

"It'll be alright." He holds my hand as we get to the house.

We walk up to the house and Nash tries to open the door but fails. I look under a plant on the porch and find the spare key. I used to put it there Incase I lost mine. I open the door and it's how I imagined. But worse the last time I was here with Jake.. It's much, much worse than that. Beer bottles are smashed everywhere and there are blood stains on the tables and floor.

"Skylynn!" I yell and hear a scream.

"Sky! Where are you?" Hayes yells and Skylynn scream.

"I think I know where she is." I run upstairs to a hallway closet and throw all the clothes out and open a small door behind the clothes and find Skylynn in a small corner shoved and stuck because she was tied and taped down and her mouth was taped shut. I try getting the tape off but my arms are too weak.

"Move. I'll get it." Nash pulls me out of the closet and I run into Hayes' arms.

I begin to sob and Hayes rubs my back, "I can't believe this.." I cry.

"Hayes!" Skylynn breaks free and runs to Hayes and he lets go of me to pick her up and spins Sky around.

"What did they do to you Skylynn?" I ask her and she glares at me.

"Is he your father?" She asks and I nod.

"He's a mean man. He hit my head and I cried and he cuts me with glass and kicked and hit me and I screamed and he said I was a bad girl and shoved me in that closet and told me to stay quiet or he will do much worse. It was scary." Skylynn says and I look back at Nash and he looks like he wants to skin someone alive.

"Well, it's alright now. That mean man won't bother you again. I promise." Hayes says and holds my hand with his hand that isn't holding Sky and we go downstairs and don't see Cameron.

Now where the hell is Cameron?
