Zombie Infection

Chapter thirteen

  Leaving behind Brandon in the truck it kind of had an impact on me, but i was still grateful to have Zack by my side again i knew he wouldn't give up easily. Lost in my thoughts I felt hands strongly grip my forearm and twist it around. I counter attacked, bring up my leg as I did I spun around and catching him around in the face, but his grip didn’t relax. He simply grunted and twisted my forearm the other way pushing my arm down. I stopped struggling immediately. If he twisted it anymore he would dislocate my shoulder. And right now wouldn’t be the best time to get injured.

  “Katherine!” Jake shouted as the zombie pinned me to the ground. It started to reach up and tear off the sleeve of my shirt, “Katherine,” Jake was too far to help me. I gritted my teeth as I could feel his nails digging into my skin, “KAT!” Zack shouted as they came running, It wasn’t long now before he bit me and before Zack and the others started shooting at me. I could just get my arm free I could go for my axe and he would be gone, but I couldn’t reach for either without him seeing. Then if I did my shoulder would dislocate but I could always pop it back in place but not without the pain and even so what good would it do with just one arm., but what choice did I have. I looked one more time trying to see if I could reach my axe but I couldn’t, “Kat here!” ?Jake shouted as he threw me his gun but how could I shot the zombie, but I had to.

   As I pushed off the zombie I got the gun and shot it, “Gross!” I grimaced as I examined the blood on me. As I stood up the concoction squelched under my boot as I turned to survey my surroundings, “Katherine, are you okay?” Zack asked as he came running up to me, “Yeah,” I said as I hugged him, “I don’t know what I’d do If I ever lost you Katherine,” A little smile appeared on my face as he said that., “Let’s keep moving who knows what’s out here at this time of night,” Tony said as he started walking away, “Tony we need to find another car were sitting ducks out here just walking around at least we get away if they came around again. I mean just look at what happen to Katherine,” Jake said as he smile at me but I hid my face in Zack chest.

  Tony started to yell as Christi, Zack, and I stayed back, “Do you think we will ever make it out of here?” I said as Zack put his arm around me, “Yeah it’s just the fact trying to make it out of here that’s all. You know we have to put up a fight no matter what,” As Christi got up I walked with her, “You okay?” I asked as I saw the tears streaming down her cheek, “Yeah just wondering if we will ever make it out,” “Come lets go back who know what’s out here,” I said looking around she nodded her head, “Let’s go!” Tony shouted as we made our way back onto the main road.

  Sometimes I ever wondered how Christi ended up in the care of the Tony. As we walked throughout the night we kept hearing strange noises more screams people were still alive or maybe the infection was barley reaching over here, “Stop!” Jake shouted as three demons stopped us in our path, “I got it,” I said as I pulled out my katana, “Katherine, be careful okay,” Zack said as he let go of my hand.

  I started walking up them seeing the way the bent over the person they feed off of. A load growl came from one of them as they all turned to me, “What am I doing,” I thought to myself. The one in the middle he was somehow weaker than the others smaller too I saved him for last. As I started running to them a surprise attack came from my side as five more of them popped out pushing me to the ground making me scrape my legs along the road, “Katherine!” I shook my head as I stood back up eight to one not my fight. Once again I started running to them slashing them, but somehow they always moved faster, “What are you?” One of them came charging at me running to me catching me in its arms and throwing me to the ground, “KAT!” I heard Jake yelling, “Let’s go!” Tony shouted as he started to fire.

   These things were unstoppable. Maybe in the time we started fighting I only killed two but the others were stronger. Running up to one I ducked and rolled as it swung it’s right arm to me almost hitting me in the face, but as I got back up I turned around and sliced it in half letting their blood splatter on me, “Dam I don’t think we can take them down,” Christi said breathing heavily I just smiled as I took off running again to the other, “Jake give me a life!” I shouted as I kept running he held out his hand and I jumped off of it I flipped in the air killing one more slicing its head off and watching it roll to the end of the road.
