Zombie Infection

Chapter six

I walked around the house while Sean stayed down in the living room with Zack. i was worried i knew it was all my fault that he got attacked, but maybe after he woke up i could tell him that i was sorry or maybe i just should leave and set out to find my family by myself. I knew it was a long shot but i couldn’t help it i had almost lost Zack maybe i should go maybe it was for the best. As i reached the front of the house i saw the sun coming up shining the light in my face, I thought of my life before all of this how I used to wake up and know that the day would be filled with fun and being with my friends, but today it wasn’t it was filled with fighting and killing no time for talking and playing no more time to have fun.

  I stood there for a while till I felt a hand on my shoulder which made me think it was a zombie but it wasn’t I knew because by now it would of killed me, “You okay?’ Sean said as he came next to me, “You ever think about the past when you took this world for granted?” he didn’t answer me right away then looked at me, “Sometimes I do but then again it’s what made me who I am today and who I have in my life,” I looked at the trees and grass softly blowing making my hair blow along with it you could see the birds flying in the clear blue sky the breeze making you feel safe, but out of here it wasn’t even close to safety., “True but I regret leaving my family behind,” I said slowly remembering the dream I had about my brother. I walked away before Sean could say anything to me. My heart was racing in my chest pounding it felt like it was going to explode. I dawdled away walking back to Zack to see if he was up but he wasn’t. I was depressed , frightened but most of all horrified of all of this I wasn’t strong like the other I wasn’t a fighter like Zack or a killer like Sean no I was just in the way.

  I crept as I passed Kelly’s room since she was still asleep, but as I reached my room plopping myself down on my bed I gazed at the window seeing a small butterfly on the outside of it. The pain rose inside my heart making me whimper, “Katherine?’ Sean said in an agonized way, “Katherine, its Zack…” He stopped witch made me rammed to the door out my room, “Zack!” I cried out as I ran down the stairs. I didn’t hear him calling me was he dead did he get bit was he okay? I asked myself as I bolted down to the living room as fast as I could I even darted past Kelly, “Zack!” Then I reached the room. There he was standing there his blue eyes locked on me hi hair dangled in his face his smile well it wasn’t a smile more of a smirk, “Z…Zack!’ I said as I ran to him and hugged him, I could feel his arms wrapping around me embracing his sent and smell feeling his heart beating. It was my Zack and he was okay, “I could tell you missed me,” He said in a whisper, but I couldn’t say anything because if I did he would be able to tell I was crying.

  I held onto him never wanting to let go and he didn’t let go of me he held me as he rested his chine on my head, “Zack, I’m sorry,” I sobbed, he pulled away lifting my chin up and holding my face with his hands, “don’t be,” He said slowly. I made him let go of my face and went back to hugging him, “Ummm you guys I hate to interrupt but we got a problem,” Sean said as I looked up making Zack let go of me. We stumbled forwarded to the door as we saw the Zombies slowly walking to the house, “So how many bullets we have left?” I ask puzzled, “Surly not enough to kill all of them,” Sean said as he grabbed me and pulled me behind him like he always did, “Then it looks like we better make a run for it through the back of the house,” Zack said as he grabbed my had but as he did my heart skipped a beat, “You’re right ill go get Kelly,” Sean said as Zack and I ran towards the back of the house. I was ready to fight them off but not with the limited things we left to fight them off. As Zack and I waited for Sean and Kelly I looked around making sure no other zombies were coming.  I stood there thinking of everything this place would be overrun with zombies, but how would we get out?  Looked around trying to see if there wasn’t an escape route but there wasn’t we would have to run through the back of the yard and into the forest…butfor all we knew the zombies could be coming through there too.
