Zombie Infection

Chapter nineteen

    “Jake…” I said to myself as more of those things came, “Jake, hurry please!” I screamed as one of them started running. I got out the car and ran up to it swinging my katana at it I was only as able to make a small cut on it, “Get back in I got them!” Jake shouted as the thing jumped at me, “Kat!” I felt Jake’s hand reaching for me as I landed on my back hitting my head on a rock, but I rolled to the other side as the thing jumped at me, “come on!” Jake screamed as I jumped inside the car, “You’re so stupid!” he shouted as he started the car, “T…the others,” I mumbled as he drove off towards the exit, “I know we have to come back tomorrow okay,” he said holding my hand, “You better stay with me Katherine don’t you dare fall asleep!” He screamed as I watched him look at me, “Guess I hit my head…pretty hard…right,” I said gasping for air, “Kat don’t!” It wasn’t like I was going to die at least not yet.

   I could still feel everything. Every move or turn we made how he carried me out the car. I still felt all that so that must mean I’m not dead…right? It seemed like only a few hours I was asleep I had no idea I slept for most of the night, “Kat?” Jake voice was by my ear as he whispered my name, “Kat wake up!” it felt like my eye lids were glued shut, “Kat! Don’t you have to wake up?” He shouted as he picked me up, “I’m up don’t get all mad about it,” I said trying to open my eyes, but the sun light was to bright, “God dam it Kat! You gave me a heart attack!” He said hugging me, “it’s not like you don’t have anything to go back to,” I laughed, “Shut up you don’t get it,” he looked away and walked out the room while I sat there looking out the window while a few zombies past the house slowly moving dragging themselves along the empty road.

   I wonder if they had any thoughts like if they thought about things or were they just walking bodies. Did they feel the pain when we shot them… probably not since when we shot them in the leg they just get back up like nothing happen? Who would have ever thought all those Zombie movies would pay off watching how to kill them funny when things you see in TV don’t seem real and one day out of nowhere your life is on the line because someone out there made this life. Never ran across my mind that I would be using a katana to keep myself alive right now.

    This was something new sometimes I wondered how come some of the zombies were smart like Kelly…did she know it was me back there did she see me coming or was it all an act, “Come on were going back,” Jake brought me out of my thoughts, “Okay be there in a second,” I said getting up and putting back on my waistband, “Kat let’s go!” Jake shouted again from outside, “Scream like that and we will for sure be overrun with zombies,” I called back out to him, “Right,” I heard him say, “Still hurry it up!” As I ran outside I found him sitting in a truck, “Where…” “It was already here plus that car can’t carry all of us,” Jake said staring it up “Okay then,” I laughed as I got in the front.

   There hunger never ended…they never ended. It got worse every day gun shots were fired screams filled the air. It was nothing like the first day though it got more out of hand every day and with the handful of people left in the world there was nothing we could do. I could hear their screams little grails boys they were everywhere no matter how far you ran or how much you tried to hide they found you they smelled your blood and they came after you. The only way you could was to just kill them.

    “Look,” Jake said pointing at the Wal-Mart, “Think there still in there,” I asked as we pulled in, “it seems like they got inside,” Jake whispered looking at the back door, “Cover me!” I shouted, “Wait you’re not going too?” He said holding my arm,” “I have to,” “Wait!” Jake closed my door and locked it, “Look they keep coming you can’t take them down with just that katana,” I looked out the window they surround the store with no way in or out and he was right If I tried to kill them with only this I would die, “I have to try!” I said looking back at him, “Zack, Alex!” Christi voice rang out from inside the store, “Jake,” he nodded his head getting out the car with me and running, “Whatever you do, don’t stop killing!” Jake shouted as he shot his gun. I nodded my head as I smashed in their heads, “Zack!!!!” His name was called out again, “Kat get back!” Jake said pushing me out the way. As I got back up I swung my katana while Jake went after the zombies behind me, “Katherine!” Christi ran up to me once Jake and I got inside.
