Chapter Six

Chapter Six

I took the birth control because my mother forced me and she watched as I took the pill. I finished getting packed and my father came home finally from job hunting. "How did it go?" I asked him. "Bad. I didn't find much." He responded and then laid on the couch. "Grandma and Grandpa are here." I warn my father. He doesn't like my grandparents because they think he is the worst person around. "Thanks for warning me." He tells me and then closes his eyes.

            I am going to leave in a few minutes, so I have to tell my grandparents goodbye. "Bye grandma!" I say giving her a hug and receiving a kiss on the forehead. "Goodbye grandpa!" I then said to my grandpa and he kissed me on the head and I hugged him. I don't care for the kisses now that I am sixteen years old, but I can't be rude and deny them.

            I go upstairs and grab my suitcase to bring downstairs by the front door. "When are you leaving my darling?" My mother asks and a tear goes down her face. "A few minutes, but I am not sure if he is on his way yet." I tell her. "Don't cry, I will be back before you know it." I comfort my mother. "I am going to miss your smiling face!" My mother says. I begin to think she is just joking with me.

            My mother hugs me and I sit down in the chair by the door. I was about ready to leave. "Don't forget to call me when you get there!" My mother reminds me. "I will." I respond looking out the window. "And remember everything I told you!" She adds in. "Yeah, I know." I respond to my mother as she is getting really annoying.

            Finally, Lewis arrived with his car in my driveway. "Bye everyone!" I say as I walk out the door with my two bags, one was a suitcase and the other was a carry on. "Need help?" Lewis gets out of his car to open the doors for me. "I got it. Thanks anyways!" I say politely. "Welcome." He then says.

            I put everything in the trunk and he opens the front door for me to sit down. I sit and he closes the door for me. "How is everything?" He then asks. "Good." I tell him. "Glad to be getting away from home." I also say. "I can't wait to be in Florida!" Lewis says. "Me too!" I add in.

            After about twenty minutes of driving we arrive at the airport. It was time to get are luggage aboard and go through security. We first stopped at the service spot where you scan your tickets and put your luggage on to be weighed. They then take it and it goes away, so they can place it on the airplane. After we did that, Lewis led me to the security where they checked are tickets and asked us a few questions before going through. In security, you must take off your shoes and place your carry on through a scanner to make sure there is nothing that can't be brought on in it. You also have to walk through detectors to make sure there is nothing on you.

            That took a good hour and we had about forty five minutes until we would be boarding the plane to Florida. "Are you hungry?" Lewis asked me. I nodded and held his hand. We walked down a little to get some food. I devoured my food really fast and Lewis took his time. "Sorry for acting like a pig, I guess I was really hungry." I then apologize. "You aren't a pig!" He laughs and says. "I know." I smile.

            We walked back and sat by the place where we will be boarding because there was only about ten minutes left until we will be boarding. "I am going to go to the bathroom." I tell Lewis and gets up and walks across the way to the bathrooms. When I got back I noticed that we were starting to line up. We were B4 and B5, so we will be getting on in the second group. "Flight 441 is now boarding." The airport announced on the loud speaker. I was already there to be ready.

            "Ready to leave here and go to Florida?" Lewis asks me. "Yes, I am really excited." I smile and reply to him. "Will this be your first time in Florida?" He asks me. "I believe so." I respond because I think it was, but it was possible that I have been there as a baby since my mother and grandparents traveled. "It will be fun!" He says and we start getting up to stand by B4 and B5.

            We get onto the plane where we got seats together. There was a random old lady next to us since there was three seats in each row. The plane ride was going to be about three hours from Illinois to Florida, so I decided to get comfortable and rest my head on Lewis' shoulder. He kissed my forehead and whispered in my ear, "I really love you, Adalynn, and I have been dying to ask you something. Will you like to be my girlfriend?" I didn't have much to say because I was rather tired as if he might have noticed by now, but he still, I guess, wanted to ask me this. "I love you too! I would love to have you as my boyfriend." I then responded and we kissed.

            That was one of the joyous moment of my entire life. He actually asked me to be his girlfriend that is why he was planning this trip. He must have wanted to take me, as his girlfriend, to Florida for the summer to spend the time with me. A tear of joy actually went down my face. I could hardly believe the moment. The only reason why I did was because I could feel us flying up in the plane.

            "Are you tired?" He asked me as I yawned. "I really am." I told him and kept my head on him. "Do you want me to get you a pillow?" He questioned me. "No, I am alright, I got your shoulder to lean on." I respond and let out a giggle. I am really starting to like laying on his shoulder, for it was become a bit comfortable.

            The last thing I remember was the flight attendant coming up to us and asking if we wanted a drink. "Water please." Lewis said. "I am fine." I said knowing that I could just steal a little of his water. I close my eyes and fall asleep.

            A couple hours later I wake up and I hear over the airplane speakers, "The flight will be landing in a few minutes, please turn off all electronics at this moment." And I held my head up now. We were about to exit the plane and be in Florida. I can't wait till we get to his place.
