Your dreams are nightmares.
You continuously relive the Galran torture and feel the captain. You see flashes of your friends, of Blu. You see Deletres when you killed her and you see Keith's face as you leave to bring down the generator.
More and more horrible memories pile up on each other until finally you jolt awake into sitting position, screaming, "KEITH!"
You pant wildly, chest heaving. You're covered in sweat, and the sheets of the bed you're in are tangled in your legs. You clutch your head, trying to slow your racing heart.
"You called?" A voice comes from the door, and you look at the five people standing in the doorway, tears streaming down your face.
"Keith," You breathe, and you tumble out of bed and throw your arms around him, sobbing. "I thought I'd never see you again!"
Keith stands there stiffly, his arms at his sides. You pull back.
"Is something wrong? What happened to your hair?"
You reach out to run your fingers through his short hair and he steps back. You look at your friends, all of them staring at you.
"Why do you all look so different? Where's Shiro? Where's Coran? I'm so glad you're okay, Allura. Is Blu here? And Varius? The Castle, is it still standing? Did you get rid of the bomb, Pidge and Hunk? Did we destroy the generator?!"
You ramble on, waiting for one of your friends to say something. You stop, looking at them.
"Keith?"
You turn to your husband, but his gaze is cold and closed off. He had recoiled when you said Shiro's name.
"Wh-what's going on?" You falter.
"We don't know who you are." Keith says, and the room spins.
Your knees buckle and Allura quickly grabs your arm and helps you sit on your bed.
"But-" You can't believe it.
Keith quickly finishes. "We don't know who you are, but you know who we are. Why is that?"
"I- you're my friends. You saved me from the Galra. We've been living together for years." Your head hurts.
"Lance, you're like a brother to me. Hunk, you're the best cook I've ever met. Pidge, you're the smartest and most amazing little sister I could have. Allura, you're the older sister I strive to be. And Keith-" You meet his gaze and you're startled to see his eyes flicker with icey coldness. "Keith, you're my most beloved husband."
Your voice cracks and the faces of your not-friends show remorse.
"We just had the most epic battle of our lives, defeating hundreds of thousands of Galran soldiers and destroying a generator that was supposed to kill all of us and blow up half the galaxy. But we did it." You say desperately. "We saved Voltron."
They all start and Keith's eyes flash. Within an instant, he has you pinned to the bed, a knife at your throat.
"What do you know about Voltron?" He snarls. "Do you know where it is? Tell me!"
Within a nanosecond he's beneath you, his knife at his neck, his hands pinned above his head by one of your own.
"Don't you dare point a knife at me, Keith Kogane," You say quietly.
His eyes go wide with fear. The others don't move, paralyzed.
"I'm beginning to see that things are very different where I come from. I think we need to sit down and have a talk about what the fuck is going on." You stare down at him, daring him to challenge you. You accept now that these truly aren't your friends, despite their appearances.
