Being 19 now, my father has sent me off to war, fighting in Arragon's name. In the war, I have met Benedick - a Lord of Padua - and we are great friends.

I have also made great friends with Leonato in Messina, who is said to have a beautiful teenage daughter called Hero, although I have not had the pleasure of meeting her as of yet.

Returning home to Arragon's will be a blessing, when at last this war is over. I predict it to last for another half-decade, not a particularly uplifting thought for those of us here.

Father begs me to find myself a wife, especially one of Italy (where my mother came from) to strengthen the bond between our countries.

But for now I will keep my head up and proud, remembering the promise of my future.
