josh was the new kid, and he caught someone's eye. that's where this story begins

josh's POV

I stretched and yawned. looked over at the time, it read 6:30 am. I get up and get dressed, a black hoodie, and black jeans ripped at the knees. I brush my teeth and wash my face, I headed downstairs, both my parents left me when I was little so I live with my grandfather who travels so he's never home. I wasn't hungry so I skipped breakfast, I grabbed my phone and earbuds. the bus was on time, I jumped on the loud bus and headed to the back, I saw some people stare at me, I have dark brown/black curly hair, and gauges, 'i don't look that weird do i', i thought. I sat down and put my earbuds in and listened to relaxing music to calm my anxiety. i heard the name 'tyler' being yelled but i ignored it.

tyler's POV

the bus doors opened and I saw a boy with curly black hair and gauges walk on 'he was so cute' I thought, everyone thought I was straight, i've never liked girls, boys are just really beautiful and cute. sadly I was the popular kid, i hated it, when he sat down everyone was yelling at me to roast him. i couldn't and i wouldn't. "shut up, he's probably new, you don't even know him", everyone laughed and moved away from me, i quickly got up and sat next to him

josh's POV

This boy with brown hair sat next to me, "hey" he said, "uh.."i couldn't get words out my anxiety was really bad. i think he could tell because he nodded and smiled reassuringly. after awhile i finally, managed to get out some words, "hi..s-sorry i didn't say anything before", "it's ok, im tyler" he said, 'i've always liked that name' I thought, "im..josh.." i replied, "you new?" he asked, "yeah" i replied, "can I be your friend, i'll help you out" tyler said while smiling, "oh..uh..ok" i stuttered out. we sat next next to each but didn't say anything, i looked down while he wasn't looking, i noticed a rubber band on his wrist, 'that sucks' i thought, i knew why he had it bc i wore one too.
