MAC'S POV:

As I said goodbye to Emily and entered my house I found that nobody was home. The thought of Emily liking Bryson more than me lingered in my mind the whole afternoon. I needed to get it off my chest so I visited Bryson at his house and I needed an explanation.

"Hey!" Bryson exclaimed, opening the door. He looked surprise to see me.

"We need to talk!" I shouted at him. "NOW! Alone."

He wearily led me inside and directed me to his bedroom. He looked confused but stayed quiet and eyed my every action. I probably looked like I was about to throw something and whenever I get too angry Bryson knows what kind of things I can get up to.

"From day one, I mentally claimed her as mine!" I half-shouted at him as he closed his bedroom door behind us. I didn't want his mother to hear us from wherever she was and think something was wrong.

"Who? Emily!? I thought you were with that blonde chick! I don't like Emily anyway and I can't help it if she likes me!" He sounded angry too. I didn't mean to make him angry.

"Bryson, I broke up with her earlier today for Emily."

I looked up at his expression. He looked confused but happy that I broke up with Gaby at the same time. I've always hated Gaby and he knew that. If only he was there when we broke up. He would've been the one to save me when Gaby asked who it was I liked.

"I told her that I liked someone else. Emily was there and I think she knows I like her. What if Gaby kind of got the hint too and tells the whole schools about it?" my voice had slowly quietened with every word I said to him. My vision was going blurry and there were tears forming in my eyes. I had never been upset like this in ages.

Bryson brought me over to sit on his bed. It felt good getting my feelings out without someone judging me for it but I felt weak and I knew that I shouldn't be crying over something as little as this. But Bryson didn't seem to care and placed his hand on my back as I looked at the ground, wiping my eyes.

"Don't worry. She's going to find out sooner or later. Why don't you tell her yourself? That way she won't be so angry with you when she finds out. Just be honest with her."

EMILY'S POV:

It was a Saturday. The first week of school had ended and I was so happy with myself that I survived it.

Looking at my phone I found that I had received a text from Mac.

Mac: 'Meet me at the park as soon as you can.'

Me: 'Sure! I'll be there in 10 minutes!'

With that, I quickly got out of bed and started getting ready. I was excited. I had never been invited to go anywhere like this and there was absolutely nothing else to do today.

Skipping breakfast (I'll eat that later), I walked outside and skipped along to the park. Mac was already there sitting on the same bench where we first met. Bryson was nowhere to be seen.

"Hello!" I exclaimed, taking a seat next to him. Why wasn't Bryson there? What was he going to tell me? Why did I care so much?

"Hey!" he replied, looking pretty happy and relieved that I had shown up. "I need to tell you something..." He looked nervous and I couldn't help but tilt my head to the side a bit. Why on earth would he be nervous? "I-I really liked you. I know you have feelings for Bryson but please just hear me out..."

"WHAT!? I don't like Bryson! Who told you that?" I was so confused. Did Mac just say that he liked me?

"You do like him! I see the way you look at him in your eyes!" His eyes were getting watery and it was then that I saw how his chocolate brown eyes had sparkled in the morning sunlight.

"Look, I'm sorry Mac. I don't like him in that way at all - I was just trying to be his friend!" I said, placing my hand on his hand.

MAC'S POV:

Her hand was on mine and it was then that I realised that she was very sorry.

"No! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to accuse you so quickly! I-" I was cut off by her lips smashing onto mine. It was as of the whole world had drained out of me and it felt magical.

As we pulled away, we were both blushing.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" I asked.

EMILY'S POV:

I sat there frozen. He had just asked me to be his girlfriend! I've never gone out with anyone before and I knew that he probably has gone out with almost every girl in school. Just look at him! How could he have not!?

I knew that he'd be sad if I rejected him and if I accepted, my brother would be up his ass on our every date in case he was to do something he could not.

I looked back up into those eyes. It was really hard not to. "Yes, of course I will!"
