Emily's POV:
The next day at school I couldn't concentrate. Our science teacher, Mr Blake, kept talking about things that I honestly really didn't care about and all I could think about was Karlee. One time, I leant forward to ask the person in front of me for a pen and accidentally called them Karlee. And the worst part about that was that they were a guy and Karlee was obviously a girls' name.
I sighed and walked out of the classroom as soon as the bell rang. Even after the first lesson, I didn't want to be here at all. I couldn't concentrate knowing that Karlee is fighting a really hard battle right now and I'm not there beside her supporting her. One thing for sure was that I was going to visit her after I survive this hell they call school.
I sat down by myself underneath a small tree next to the girls bathroom. Nobody would ever find me here unless they really wanted to.
Why did such bad things happen to such nice people? I hadn't even met Karlee's dad before but I already knew he was a really nice person and a great father. When he wakes up from the coma that he is in, I want to meet him and tell him how appreciated by me he is. He must be a very brave man.
I looked up suddenly, hearing panting in front of me. I spotted a frustrated and tired girl in front of me. She looked really happy to see me. It was only when she sat down next to me that I realised she was Gaby's sidekick, Stephanie. What in god's name does she want?
"I've been looking for you everywhere! I-I'm so sorry," she sobbed. She was almost in tears.
I looked at her confusedly. "What? Why are you sorry? Why are you here? What do you want?" I told her, quite angry that someone had disrupted the time I had for myself.
"It was me!!" she exclaimed, resting her head on my shoulder and bursting out with tears. "I h-had told G-Gaby it was a b-bad idea. I-I didn't think it w-would be this bad!"
I shook her head off my shoulder and thought for a moment. Was it her and Gaby who had planned to do this all along!? "Was it you who made this happen to Karlee and her father!? Was it!?" I stood up suddenly, furious. I could feel my face getting hotter and hotter after every word.
"W-We pushed a log in the m-middle of the road a-and... some other things a-and it was us! I told her it was a bad idea!" she screamed, not really making any sense to me. "Please forgive me."
She looked up at me, full of sorrow. I looked into those tear-filled eyes and considered my next move. At least she had the curtesy to apologise to me. I hadn't really known Stephanie that much and, being as kind-hearted as I am, I couldn't not forgive her. She seemed so sad about the whole situation.
"I forgive you." I said after a lot of hesitation.
"Really!? So are we all good now? I don't know if Gaby is going to accept me back now that I've told you the truth so... umm.. can we be friends?" she mumbled, looking at the ground.
I laughed. "Of course! Thank you for telling the truth, but I'm going to have to tell someone about this."
"Yeah... I know..."
With that, I took out my phone and saw that I had 7 unread messages all from Mac asking where I was.
M: 'where r u?'
'r u okay?'
'babe ily'
'please reply'
'I can't handle this anymore'
'it will be okay'
'ily'
E: 'lol i'm fine. it was Gaby and her sidekick, stephanie. they planned this all along :('
