When last we left Mummy, Zombie and Dragon, they were having a standoff with Count Dracula, who is on a self-appointed secret mission to kill the Terrible Trio for indirectly getting his granddaughter Vampira arrested (instead of breaking her out himself).
"You die now!" Dracula rasped as he threw himself forward into Mummy.
The vampire's momentum caused the two to fly halfway through the hall before they crashed into Tut's sarcophagus. Mummy grabbed Dracula and kicked him to the floor, where Dragon tried to spray him with fire, but the fiend changed into a bat and flew to the ceiling before the flames reached him.
"Oh no you don't!" Dragon yelled.
She flew after him and bit bat-Dracula in his tail, causing him to scream and change back into his vampiry self. He clung to Dragon, the extra weight causing her to fall to the floor. The vampire grabbed her neck and was about to bite her when Zombie grabbed him from behind and bit his neck instead.
"RAAAAAAAGH!!!" Dracula roared as he pulled Zombie over his shoulder and threw her on a spiked fence, effectively impaling her. Mummy heard her screaming in pain and rage and moved to help her but Dracula blocked the way and punched him in the face. This however invited a mob of killer scarabs to crawl on the count's arm and all over his body, getting under his clothes and skin and biting him everywhere.
While Dracula was busy getting rid of the scarabs, Mummy reached Zombie and tried to pull her off the spike.
"AAAAARGH!!!" she screamed. "I'm dying for real this time..."
"Nonsense," Mummy replied, "We'll patch you right up once we've dealt with that pesky vampire."
Meanwhile, said pesky vampire had squashed the last killer scarab and was trying to get a hold of Dragon's neck again, but she stayed clear of him, shooting blasts of fire to keep him back when necessary.
At the same time, something weird was going on with Tut's sarcophagus. After Mummy and Dracula had crashed into it, the casket began to glow with a greenish light, which soon after burst from the sarcophagus and spread to all the other mummies in the hall.
While all this went on, Mummy used some of his wrappings to bandage up where Zombie had been impaled so her innards wouldn't spill out. The two looked on as Dragon tried to burn Dracula, while the vampire tried to stay clear of the fire as he wanted to get closer to the firebrething fiend. Suddenly he got close enough and jumped on Dragon's back. He grabbed her neck and bared his fangs to bite her.
"I should probably go help her," Mummy said.
He got up and ran across the hall to help Dragon but it was painfully obvious that he wouldn't make it in time.
Fortunately however, something else chose this moment to intervene instead...
