Chapter 27 - Another Game

Diocles pov

"What with all this stupid hide and seek game?" I asked after she calmed down from her tantrum.

"I don't want to lie."

"Fine.." I took the seat beside her. "Tell me."

Her face was covered in cold sweat as she clutched on her stomach side repeatedly. She drown me in this weird confusion again. Is she sick or what?"

"You're not hot. Why you keep sweating hard." I touched her forehead but she was not sick.

"I'm fine." She pushed my hand lightly.

I took her hand in mine as I pulled her to my side. She clinged to me instantly making me smiled ear to ear. She burried her face on my chest drown me again in another confusion.

"What's wrong?" I can't help but to asked again.

"Diocles.. I'm sorry."

"What is it about?" I frowned.

"I'm sorry I left your team. I really want to returned, but I can't."

"I really want you in my team. But if wanting you in it mean you'll avoid me like this, I prefer to let you stay in Logan care. I love you Deemia. I really do. So your happiness matter to me."

"But I'm not happy in Logan team. I really want to go back.. to yours. But I can't."

I sighed listen to her reason for all the trouble she gave me. So she avoid me because she wanted to go back but she can't.

"Why you can't? I'm the leader. I'm the one making the decision. If you want to retured, I'm more than happy to accept you back."

"Don't use your authority like that. Its made you a bad leader." She scowled on me but I giggled.

My fingers ran on her cheek making her yellow light skin turned red. She burried her face again on my chest as I squeeze her in my embrace. I really love her.

"I want to return, I really do but I'm afraid of other point of view. I left the team on my own.. its my fault. Now I'm too ashamed to go back. But I want to stay on your side."

"If you can't stay in my team, then stay in my life. Be with me forever. Marry me?"

I don't know how long we both stayed in silence. Its like she stop breathing after listen to my unexpected proposal. I hugged her tightly in my arms and she clinged to me more.

"So.. what's your answer?" I asked again.

"Don't know." She started another game against me.

"I thought you love me."

"Isn't this going to fast? You just dropped the L-bomb and now you propose? And where's the ring?"

She made me laughed with her funny protest. She protested but ask where is the ring. I pinched her nose when she looked at me disbelief.

"So its a yes?"

"Where's my ring?" She teased.

"Yes or no?"

"My ring first."

"Yes first or there will no ring."

Her eyes contract as she looked at me in disbelief. "Bad boyfriend."

"Its bad fiance." I corrected her as I slip a ring in her ring fingers.

"I win." She giggled after our little love quarell.

I had the ring for a while in my pocket. I took it every time I met Deemia. When she avoid me, I still keep the ring incase of unpridictable case.. well.. like this one.

She always have her way to made me lost to her own creative game. My love for her made me lost to each of the play. She might want to win against me, but she never realize she always had.

"How did you get in?" She asked after a while.

"I have my way." I teased her.

Her eyes contracted as she looked at me disbelief. I pinched her nose and she sulked but I laughed it off. She keep looking at the ring giving me this weird feeling.

She was looking at the ring with painful eyes. She was so happy the time I put the ring on. But after a while, her lovely smile fade away as she stared and play with the ring more.

I touched her forehead again but no. I cupped her face this time but still no. She was fine. But why she keep sweating.

"Are you alright?"

"I'm ok." She answered with out looking at me.

I cupped her face to face me. Her eyebrow wingkled even more. "Why you keep sweating hard?."

"I'm fine. Maybe its too hot here." She smiled.

I don't think so. Although she smiled to me but I got this feeling she was hidding something more than that. I got high level of observing skill. I can detected it clearly she still got something she hide from me. What the game she playing now.
