A Second Chance

  I forgot to say that I got the media from the picsart app. I just thought that I should tell you that.

Chapter 4 - A New Home :

  Him. That's all that I thought. I slowly got out of my fighting position. I don't know why, but I knew that he wasn't going to hurt me. I settled down and told him to sit down on the bucket that I set out for singing and playing.
  "I'm sorry for startling you," he sounded sincere. "Why did you come to this alley?" I asked, trying for answers as to why I wasn't sleeping right now. I wasn't pissed, but I wasn't happy either.
  "I heard you sobbing and I...I...I had to stop it....the sobbing. You sounded sad, seeing or hearing you cry is very upsetting, I mean when you sob, you cry hard. Its weird to hear, it's so different from when you're singing, but not. Either way, you sound sad," he said, rambling.
  "You heard me sing?" I asked.
  "I come to hear you everyday, I heard you when I was skipping school and I wanted to know who you were," he talks quite a bit.
  "Why?" I asked.
  "Because I've never seen you at my school," he said.
  "I'm broke and homeless, you really think that I have the money to attend school?" now I'm really getting upset, I just want to go to sleep.
  "One second," he said, putting a finger up.
  He called someone, I didn't know what they were talking about, I only heard bits and pieces.
Alec, ".....gran?......bring....with me.....live.....us?" that's all that I heard because he was speaking so softly.
  I didn't hear anything else as he got off of the phone smirking like crazy.
  "What?" I asked, worried as to what just happened.
  "I'm supposed to move in with my grandparents on their farm and they just said that you can come stay there with us for as long as you need," he said, smiling widely now.
  "Why?" I asked, whispering and looking at the ground.
  "Because you don't deserve to live like this, no one does," he said softly.
  I wasn't declining, I was just speechless. He took that silence as a no and turned slowly on his heel. "Don't go, I'll go with you, anything is better than this," I said, gesturing towards the pavement where my blanket is. He turned back around and we both started gathering my things.
   He said that he would take me to where he's staying right now, a little apartment. He said that our flight was at 9 o'clock in the morning. I've never flown before.
  The farm was in Kansas. I've never been, but it sounds all right. I can't wait to see the farmlands. Most of all, I couldn't wait for the best thing in the world, a second chance.
