The next day was supposed to go smoothly. The castle had been searched countless times, and dementors circled the building, bringing gloom with them. Today was rainy and dreary as well. Nicole walked out of the dormitory, with no sight of Raven or Octavia. As if rehearsed, Monica was waiting for her in the common room.

"Nicole! I believe we have some unfiished business to take care of. I lost five chess pieces that day. Five! One knight, three pawns, and one bishop. I need them back, and since you can't get them for me, you need to pay."

"Shut up, cry baby. It is a chess game! Who honestly cares?"

"Who cares? I care! My father is the wizard chess champion and that is a limited edition chess board and pieces! Made of enchanted wood and increased magical durability for the most enjoyable movements of the pieces!"

"Wow, you are such a dork!"

"Oh ya, Kings? Great Hall! Midnight, tonight!"

     "Fine! Just stop talking! Gosh!"

Nicole stormed out. Sadly, Monica was in her potions class. Potions was miserable. Raven and Octavia were no-shows. Nicole could not follow along with the potions book. None of the ingredients were labeled, and the book was in another language.

     4 oz. Flobberworm mucus

     2 drops of Mermaid Blood

     6 spines of a Lionfish

     3 pieces of Wolfsbane

The list was endless. Nicole gave up, and started adding random things to the cauldron. A piece of her hair, her notes, a bug she found on her desk, etc. Sadly, when trying to stir her random potion, she picked up her wand and started to stir. The wand started to burn on the end, and she quickly raised it out of the cauldron and dropped it to the floor. It quickly extinguished, but the cauldron was still madly bubbling. She looked around, and only Monica and Malfoy noticed. Slughorn was busy eating something he found off the shelf. Nicole just shrugged and got back to work mixing things. At the end of class, she had managed to get nothing done. They were instructed to bring their potions to his desk in the front of the classroom, when Monica spat in Nicole's cauldron. Nicole gave a big shake to her pot, and Monica was splattered with the goo. Monica screamed as her robe started to steam. She grabbed her robe, and looked for further damage. Nothing other than random steam and a horrible smell. Monica took her wand, said something really fast, and Nicole was pushed into the wall. Nicole growled and picked up the spines from the lionfish. She threw them all at Monica, who swiftly ducked and dodged them. Slughorn screamed.

"Stop! All of you, stop! Monica, detention!"

"But, Professor! You don't get it! Nicole started all of it!"

"Monica, all I saw was you casting a spell at Nicole! Detention!"

Nicole was relieved. Just what Monica needed. Monica glared at her. Class was ended directly after that, and Monica was furious.

     "Great Hall. Midnight."
