Beneath the Eyes

Chapter 4

        Okay it's not really a lab, it's a huge greenhouse filled with mortal plants and ours. I call it a lab because LeAnna crushes and mixes all these flowers together making potions for us fairies. An no we do not make pixie dust like your guys so called Tinker Bell.

        We walk to the entrance now, looking all over to find LeAnna. Soon I spot her standing next besides an orchid, with her clipboard in hand writing stuff down.

         "Hey LeAnna", I said me and Lizzy walking towards her. LeAnna lifts her head up and smiles at us. She is very beautiful. Has the fire long curly red hair, pale skin, and hazel eyes. Her element is (wait for it....) fire! She puts her clipboard down next besides the orchid.

           "Well hello Courtney and Lizzy. What are you doing here?", her Irish accent thick. She motions for us to sit down in the seats near the table. We sit while Leanna brings us some tea.

            "I actually need to talk to you about something", I said looking at her straight in the eyes. She smiles hesitantly, sitting down opposite from us.

             "Um.... okay", nervously she plays with her blouse. I take a deep breath and begin.

             "When mom was sentenced to death before Matthew was born....", I trailed my voice cloaking alittle but I continued anyway.

             "Why did they let her live to have me and Matthew? Who is our father? I....I..... I just hate that people aren't answering my questions. They just ignore it saying some bullshit that I know are lies. I want the truth now", there I said it. Now here comes the part of whether she will tell me or not. She's glancing around nervously. Before she could say anything Lizzy's head whips around and a voice spoke behind us.

            "Well well well look it here", Delphi, Lizzy's mom, comes into view. She was wearing a big smirk on her face. Behind her come out Rose Ashmore. Oh when I said Lizzy hates Vanessa I was exaggerating a bit. Lizzy hates hates Rose, as in I am going to kill you if you come close to me. An to prove my point Lizzy was giving her a death stare, growling a bit. All Rose did was smirk and toss her long blonde hair over her pale shoulder.

          "Hello Lizzy", her voice dripping with clam which made Lizzy even more mad. Her eyes turned red and fangs extended. I held her back as much as I could. LeAnna stood up coming over to us.

           "What do you want Delphi", her voice turning stone cold.

             "I just wanted to stop by, say hello, is that a crime", she said innocently still smiling.

             "With you it is", LeAnna said. She got in front of us and then her hands lit up with fire.

             "You are not welcome here so I suggest you leave". Delphi looked at the fire then at LeAnna. She sighed

             "Really, you are making a big fuss over a hello", this time she started walking towards us. LeAnna threw a fire ball at Delphi which she ducked then. She was at LeAnna's side now gripping her by the throat. Lizzy jumped up and went to go help her when Rose kick her in the stomache hard. Lizzy flew across the room. They started fighting and me well I was standing still, in shock. I watched Delphi lean into LeAnna's ear and whispered,

              "I tried being nice", her fangs extended and she sank them in LeAnna's neck. Thats when I screamed and ran to them. Delphi threw LeAnna across the room and when I got to her, she grabbed my throat and lifted me up.

               "Courtney!!!", Lizzy yelled trying to get to me but Rose was blocking her. I tried kicking and spitting but all it did was make her even angrier. She punched me in the stomache and face a couple of times. Throwing me to the floor, then in an instant she was over me, eyes red and fangs extended. Her hand over my heart.

              "To bad you won't get to live to hear the truth about yours and your mother's past". Just when she gripped on my chest where my heart was and her fangs almost to my neck, she was thrown off of me. When I opened my eyes I saw the high councilor, Vanessa's dad, standing over me, pulling me up. All the fighting stopped.

               "I better hear an anwser to why everybody's fighting", I saw a guard lift LeAnna up and take her away.    "If I dont hear one then every single one of you will be dealt by me the hard way", the councilor, Jon, said.
