He finally let me out of the basement. He gently is holding my hand like he doesn't want to hurt me, but all he has done is hurt me. I wonder if Liya got my message. At least I finally convinced him too let me up. My knees shake as I walk up the steps. Any second he could change his mind, so I caress his palm. I can't wait to wash my hands. He grins at me, and I feel sick. While he unbolts the door, I wipe sweat from my forehead, feeling my hair hand around my ears. I hate this. I hate this. I want it to end.
When the door finally creaks open, fresh air hits my nose, smelling like freedom. My heart leaps, and my skin tingles, my body feeling alive again. I smile, which makes him smile. He leads me to the window, and I place my hand against the glass. The warm sun streams in, and my fingers twitch with the memory. I need out. Out. Out. Out. I rip my hand from him, kicking his shins. He groans, bending over in agony. I run, searching to find a door. I hear him thunder behind me, so I throw myself into a dark room. My heart is so loud I swear he can hear it. My breathing is rapid. Pressing myself up against the darkest corner, I watch him sprint past in the hall.
" Kate! What happened to you? Are you insane? You are in so much trouble missy!" He screeches. I shudder. I listen as his footsteps fade till I stand shakily.
I slip into the hall, tiptoeing too what I assume is the front door. I grab the doorknob, twisting the lock. Pushing it open, I stumble out, falling to my knees with a cry. I hear him thunder behind me, and I push myself up, running to the trees. Maybe I can lose him here. I duck behind two trees, sobbing. The trees go on and on forever. The hill rolls and rolls. He will find me. It's hopeless. Something glints in the corner of my eye, and I see a small pocket watch. I pick it up, scratching SOMEONE HELP IM IN HOUSE 4583. Before I can slip it into my pocket, I'm thrown to my knees. I cry out, twisting over. He hovers over me, his face a mask of fury. I grit my teeth, reaching for the knife just out of arm's reach. I kick my knees up and down, but he doesn't budge. He grips my hair tightly, and more tears stream down my face.
" Let me go you fucking asshole!" I scream. I raise his fist, and I shudder. He completes me endlessly until my vision starts to go. I cry and scream, cursing him. Eventually, I fall limp, my body aching with pain. Through swollen eyes, I watch him cry, picking my up gingerly. He carries me back in the house, down the basement, and onto the bed.
