Obi-Wan Kenobi sat in his Jedi starfighter, his ship surrounded by Vulture Droids. Only nine of the original eighteen transports were left.

"R-4, try to contact Anakin again."

His astromech beeped. When only static came through the comlink he sighed. The holoprojector attached to the counsel flashed on.

"General Kenobi." a raspy voice said.

Obi-Wan looked at the image in surprise.

"Grievous." he replied, "I should have known you were behind this."

"I see my droids have you pinned down," the cyborg coughed.

"For the time being, yes." Obi-Wan answered.

"I will recall my Vultures only if you come with them."

Kenobi considered this for a while, a plan beginning to form in his mind.

"I'll be willing to comply."

"Good." Grievous rasped.

The hologram faded and a moment later, the Vultures retreated. Suddenly, a tractor beam surrounded the ships and began pulling them into the hangar. Once they were safely inside, Obi-Wan hopped out of his starfighter to find that he, and the LAATs, were encircled by battle droids. Out of the shuttles came the remaining clone troopers. Commander Cody walked up to him.

"Cody, I'm glad to see you survived."

"Don't think I planned on leaving General."

Cody stepped forward to engage the battle droids, but Kenobi held up his hand to stop him.

"Someone's coming. Cody, stay back with the ships."

Cody nodded and left. The entry to the hangar room opened and Grievous walked through the parted doors.

"What a pleasure it is to stand face-to-face with the great General Kenobi," the cyborg coughed, his cape swirling behind him.

"The pleasure is all mine, Grievous." Obi-Wan said.

"Shall we?" the cyborg asked roughly, his two arms unfolding into four.

"Ah," the other said, stepping back and pulling out his own lightsaber, "a duel. I thought you'd never ask."

Grievous's lightsabers clashed with Obi-Wan's and the droids around them stepped away to allow room for the two to fight.

"You've gotten slow Grievous." Kenobi mocked.

Grievous thrust his mechanical leg into Obi-Wan's abdomen sending the Jedi crashing into a wall. The cyborg chuckled, sheathed his four lightsabers, and ran. Obi-Wan staggered to his feet, struggling to regain his balance. In the absence of their master, the droids opened fire on Obi-Wan and one of the bolts struck the Master on the arm. Cody rejoined him and helped him to the cover of the ships.

"Do you have a plan General?" he asked.

"Destroy the droids and try not to get killed." The Jedi stated inspecting his shoulder and finding it to be a minor injury.

"Sounds like a good plan to me." Cody replied nodding in agreement.

The two separated and the battle began.

Above Siskeen, a ball on flames plummeted towards the planet bellow. The small one-man starfighter broke through the atmosphere. Anakin opened his eyes and groaned.
