Firewood: Remember Me

Chapter 4

Alison, Boo, Jake, Anne, and Misty had all traveled to Oregon a week after leaving college to reunite with their best friend. The city in which KT lived in was eerie. It was foggy and smelt of fish. The kids all got out of their cars and saw KT's house right in front of them. After KT went missing, her parents relocated to Oregon to forget about everything after giving up hope that she would return. She did. They saw the door open and KT stepped right out smiling. She ran right over to her friends and hugged them.
"I'm so sorry," she said to them.
"It's okay," Alison smiled. "We missed you a lot,"
"I missed y'all too," she said. "Listen,"
KT then looked over at her house to make sure nobody was watching.
"What is it?" Anne asked.
"Don't tell my parents or anyone what happened on graduation day," she told them.
"What did happen, KT?" Boo asked.
"I hobbled off into the forest," she told them.
"What have you been doing the past year?" Alison asked. "I'm so concerned,"
"At first I was with Spencer but he had to leave me to find Judine," KT said. "We had to go to some Vampire Council since he turned me. It was the scariest thing ever. It was in this huge mansion and there's a group of people in control making the rules for all vampires,"
"What was so scary about that?" Jake asked.
"Remember that Vanessa bitch?" KT asked.
"Yeah," Alison said. "The one who tried to get Rowan and I to join Star Academy?
"She's the leader's daughter," KT said.
"Kara Tatiana, darling," her mother said, opening the door. "Come inside. Your friends may come too if they please,"
KT looked over to her friends.
"We can stay," Alison said.
The kids walked inside the house to see KT's father on the couch reading a newspaper and drinking coffee.
"Do you want anything at all?" an older women asked, it was KT's aunt.
"No auntie," KT said. "I'm not having any cravings,"
"We're just so happy you're back home," KT's father said from the couch. "You're in all the newspapers,"
KT rolled her eyes and took the kids upstairs to where her bedroom was all set up ready for her.
"It's peaceful here isn't it?" KT said.
The kids all sat down and stared at KT who was looking down at her folded hands.
"Did Vanessa recognize you?" Jake asked.
"No," KT said. "We need to find Judine though. She could be in danger with Spencer. The vampires are after them,"
"Why?" Alison asked.
"Spencer is a fugitive," KT said. "Supposedly,"
KT then jumped up and ran to her window, closing her shades.
"What is it?" Misty asked.
"There's another vampire here," KT said, very worried. "I can smell him,"
"Who is it?" Alison asked.
"It smells like," KT began. "You,"
The kids all looked at Alison, the doorbell then rung. KT then listened through the door to hear her mother answer the door.
"Is Alison here?" the person asked.
"He's here for you," KT said to Alison.
Alison got up and walked out of the door and down the stairs to see Roman. He was standing in the doorway.
"Ali," he said, running over and hugging her.
"What are you doing here?" Alison asked.
"To see you," Roman said.
The two then saw that KT's mother was right there listening to the two.
"You can both go talk out on the porch," she smiled.
They both walked out. Alison knew what he was. She knew but she didn't. She didn't want to believe it.
"Roman," Alison said. "How the hell did you find me?"
"Your location was on," he said.
"I know what you are," she said. "You're a vampire. Just like Kara. Just like Spencer. Just like the parents you never let me meet,"
"I'm so sorry," he said, he then pulled her closer and almost took a bite right out of her neck.
"Get away from me," she yelled.
The door opened, they were all running out of the doorway to grab Alison away from Roman.
"Stay away," KT said, showing her fangs.
"I came here to say goodbye," he said.
"Where are you going?" Alison asked.
"I have to go to The Voltri because of your stupid sister," he said.
"Judine?" Alison asked. "What did she do?"
"She's in danger," he said. "She's with Spencer. We need to go there and locate them with the vampire council,"
"I'll go," Anne said. "Ali. You can't. It's too dangerous,"
"I'm coming with," Alison said.
"Me too," KT said.
"And I'm mortal," Jake said. "So I'll just be here,"
"Are you sure?" Alison asked.
"We'll be okay," Boo said.
"I'm so sick of this shit," Misty said. "I just wanted a normal Summer,"
"We'll be back," Roman told them.
Alison hugged her friends goodbye. She got onto Roman's back, Anne on KT's. They watched as the vampires ran off into the distance.
"What now?" Boo asked.
"Lets go home," Misty said.
