Nobody called or texted Melissa the rest of the night. Nobody could believe anything she did. Truth was that Melissa was staying in the city because the next day she had a very important meeting with the publishers that were going to actually publish her book. They loved it. They loved the idea of a girl almost being killed every day by vampires or just people who wanted her blood because it held special powers. Melissa was inside her apartment staring outside, with a glass of wine in her hand. She was thinking nonstop about everything. In Firewood, the sorority girls were saying their goodbyes to each other.
"You know I'll miss you," Alison said, giving Zora a huge hug.
"I'm sorry for everything," Zora told her.
Alison nodded. It took a while before the girls actually left. Alison took one last glance before turning around to see Roman standing in front of her.
"Hey, babe," she said. "You kind of gave me a heart attack,"
"We have to talk," he told her.
"What is it?" Alison asked, staring up at him.
Roman looked right behind her and sighed.
"We can't be together anymore," he told her.
Alison then stared up at him and didn't say anything.
"Why?" she asked.
"It's not because of you," he said. "It's something else. I have to go,"
He then turned around and walked right out the door. Misty walked up the stairs and saw Alison standing in tears.
"Is everything okay?" she asked.
"Roman broke up with me," Alison said, Misty put her box of things down and walked right over to her and gave her a huge hug.
"These things happen," Misty told her. "When me and Blake broke up, you know how that was. I'm sorry,"
The rest of the girls by this time had walked up the stairs. Zora, Bianca, Thea, and Serena stood all smiled.
"Everything okay?" Zora asked.
"Yeah," Alison said, wiping her tears away.
"That didn't seem genuine at all," Thea said.
"What's wrong, mija?" Bianca asked.
"Boys," Alison said, rolling her eyes.
"Listen," Serena said. "Forget about Roman. I'm sorry,"
Serena then hugged Alison.
"Have you spoke with Melissa, by the way?" Serena asked Misty a few moments later.
"No I haven't," Misty said. "Do you really feel bad? She wrote about all of us,"
"Guys it's okay," Alison said. "We need to forgive and forget,"
Alison picked up her bags and smiled at the girls.
"I'm really going to miss you all this Summer," she told them.
"Aw," Thea smiled. "I'll miss y'all too,"
"It's been a good year," Bianca said.
Bianca then raised up her hand and said: "To the sisterhood,"
The girls then all smiled as a horn outside honked.
"That's my taxi," Thea said. "Bye, guys,"
The girls all waved by as Thea walked towards the door, leaving.
"I'm coming," they all heard Thea yell as the person honked a second time.
"Thanks for a great year," Zora said.
"I'm happy we could finally get along," Alison told her. "Like really,"
The rest of the girls said their goodbyes, the sorority house was then empty.

In New York, Melissa was at the publishing house a little bit hungover for her book interview with the publisher.
"Hey," Melissa smiled as the publisher walked in.
"Could I take your rough draft?" The publisher asked.
Melissa handed her it and the publisher looked over it for quite some time.
"Sign this here," the publisher said, handing her a contract. "Your deal also comes with a sequel that needs to be written. Or a whole series. Depending on where you can take it,"
Melissa nodded and looked down at the bottom. She thought about Alison and the sorority girls, and Boo and Jake, Alison's family, everyone she had spied on for this book. With a spoilt second, she signed her name in red ink at the bottom. The publisher then smiled.
"I'll have your cover illustrated and I'll call you tomorrow about more details," the publisher said, getting up and shaking her hand.
Melissa walked out with the publisher. As soon as she left, Melissa got out her phone and dialed Serena's number.
"Serena," Melissa said. "I have some happy news,"
"What is it?" Serena asked.
"They're publishing the book," Melissa smiled.
"I guess I could say. I am happy for you," she told her. "I'm gonna totally be the first buyer,"
"Aw that's so sweet," Melissa said. "I wish Alison could've been this supportive,"
"So how's New York City?" Serena asked.
"I mean it's good," Melissa said. "The skyscrapers here are amazing,"
"Not as good as Firewood huh?" Serena asked.
On the other line, Serena stood in her bedroom unpacking while she waited for Melissa to reply.
"Hello?" A voice asked.
"Who's this?" Serena asked.
The voice was the voice of an old women.
"I'm so sorry I picked up the phone I found it sitting here," the women said.
"Can you give the phone back to Melissa please?" Serena asked.
"She was crossing the road," the women began.
"What?" Serena asked, starting to tear up. She knew what she was about to hear was something she never wanted to hear.
"Your friend," the women said. "The car it just came out of nowhere. I'm so sorry,"
Melissa then hung up the phone and ran as fast as she could out to her car. Serena drove a good 40 minutes speeding all the way to the city. She parked her car and ran the streets past people. At a busy intersection, there were ambulances and police cars covering the middle road. Serena saw the old women standing and watching the scene. She then saw the body of Melissa in the middle, being picked up and loaded into an ambulance. Serena froze at the sight. Melissa was gone. She didn't want to believe it but at the same time she knew it was true. She stood there. Frozen. Everything had changed in that split second. Nothing would ever be the same for her.
