All was quiet at the DuBois household. Not a single word spoken since Grandma D's tales of her evil mother. Alison was sitting on the couch with Polly when they heard a noise coming from the patio.
"Hello?" Alison asked.
"Maybe it's Boo and them," Polly said. "Are they back so soon?"
"I hope it's them," Alison whispered. "You stay right there. Okay?"
"I'm not a little kid anymore," Polly told her.
"I know," Alison said. "Please just listen to me. For your own good. I'll take you to get ice cream if you sit. Down,"
Alison walked over outside to the porch and was looking around to see if anybody was there. She could only hear crickets. Then she heard leaves rustling. Alison turned her head so quickly to see the curtains inside move.
"It was just the wind," Alison said.
Alison walked in and saw Polly staring out the front window. There were headlights.
"It's Jake's car," Polly said. "Nobody's in here, it's just them,"
They then heard a scream from the upstairs and a crash. Alison and Polly looked at each other and ran up the stairs. In Judine's room, Vanessa was trying to kill her.
"Where's the baby," Vanessa screamed.
"Not here," she yelled, as Vanessa grabbed her and threw her into the mirror.
Alison, Polly, Anne, and Grandma D ran in. Vanessa stared at the two then made the door slam shut. Boo, KT, and Jake ran in; they heard screaming coming from upstairs.
"Grab hands," Grandma D yelled at the top of the stairs.
The three grabbed hands and a bright light traveled to the upstairs bedroom. Vanessa turned to it.
"No," she yelled. "Give me Serenity,"
The light slowly approached her and grabbed her. It entered right through her mouth and she fell to the ground, staring up at the ceiling.
