WARNING: BADLY DONE ANGST AHEAD. I REPEAT, ANGST UP AHEAD. Please prepare yourselves. I'm so sorry in advance... I have no idea how this is gonna turn out.

WARNING: suicide is mentioned

Evan stared up at the giant tree in front of him. This was it.. all I have to do is climb this tree, and it's all over. No more stress. No more pain. No more anything, Evan thought to himself. Today was the day. The day that Evan Hansen would finally end it all.

He had everything planned out. For the last month, he had decided what he would write in his suicide note, where he would commit, and even what tree he would let go from. He had written farewell notes to his mother and only frie- "family" friend Jared Kleinman. Both notes were ready inside his khaki pants pocket. Now, all he had to do was climb this tree and jump. Easy right?

Wrong. Evan was having a complete meltdown. He kept thinking about how this would affect his mother. What if this destroyed her? What if she would forever hate him? What if-

Stop..

Evan was in tears. He couldn't take it anymore. After quickly wiping his tears, he manned up and started his climb up the tree. (If you get that reference, bless your soul.)

One branch, five branches, eight branches. Evan had lost count of how many he had climbed from and how high he was. Once he was a good distance up the tree, Evan looked down. Bad mistake. He panicked and almost lost his grip. He managed to stable himself again, and he continued the never ending climb to his death. But before Evan could make it any higher, he heard a small voice call "Wait!"

Evan, surprised someone found him, looked down and saw a boy with shoulder length brown hair. He was dressed in all black, and he was waving his arms around like a madman.

"Please don't do this! I promise you that it will get better if you give it a chance! Just climb back down and I can help you."

Evan stared at the boy for a second, before looking back up to the tree.

"W-why should I c-come down.." he responded back to the boy.

"Because we can help each other."

That hit Evan hard. He started crying as the words kept repeating inside his head. Someone cared...
Someone could help him..

For some strange reason, Evan trusted the boy. He slowly made his way down the tree, but he made a wrong foot move and he fell.

He could feel himself falling through the air. Everything was crashing down around him. He panicked, he broke down again. He didn't want to end his life. He couldn't. Not when he finally found someone who cared. He tried screaming.

But then it all just went black.

~~~~~
Evan woke up in the mysterious boy's arms.
The boy had caught him.
At this point, Evan didn't care who this person was. He immediately wrapped his arms around him and started crying into his chest. Evan swore the boy was saying something, but he couldn't hear it.
All that he could process was that this boy had caught him.
Someone had saved him.
END NOTE:// woah that was actually really bad. *golf claps* Now, this was my
first attempt at writing angst. Sorry if it turned out bad. I don't like seeing my boys hurt.
