River and I were talking for about 30 minutes or so, when there was a knock at the door. They were here. River stood up to answer the door, as Lucas, Seth, Axel, and Melany walked in. Jasper wasn't there, I wonder why?

River just stood there with his mask, and those piercing blue eyes. Lucas spoke first "Eve did something happen?" I looked at him wondering how he could still lie to me, I responded "Why didn't you tell me?" Lucas looked confused and asked "What do you mean?" I raised my voice and asked again "Why didn't you tell me you weren't human?!"

Seth and Axel looked up and answered for him "Because if he did, we would have to go back to that place! And you would have told some one? Don't go blaming him for not trusting someone like you!"

I was hurt they actually thought I would tell someone, they were my only friends. I just stood there and said "Fine, its okay I don't mind. Oh Lucas can you please me back to the social services, I don't think I can live with someone that doesn't at least trust me.

Lucas was standing there shocked just as he manged to say, "So you'd rather live with abusive guardians, then be with people you can't trust?" I looked at and sad in a sad tone "At least I didn't have any expectations with them." Seth grabbed my arm and said "In a angry tone "Do you actually think he'd do that?!" I somehow manged to get out of his.

I turned one more time before leaving "I'll go by myself then."

*3 days later*

I had all my belonging and went to talk to Rosa, the lady in charge of me in social services. I went up to her with a smile and said "Is it okay if you get me another guardian?" She looked at me with concern as she said "Did they abuse you?" I responded quickly "No, no that's not it, it's just that I don't feel like I belong there." She nodded and turned to the computer.

After a few minutes I noticed her face went pale, as she turned my way and said "HE was released 2 days ago from jail!" I could feel the blood drain from my face, as I stood there terrified. She quickly said "Sweetie it's going to be alright, go sit down and I'll look for a family for you." I did what she said, I was scared of what might happen if I see him again.

*Flash back 6 years*

I was finally picked up from the orphanage. I was so happy to finally get a home I could call my own. I ran to meet the man who would be adopting me, he was tall with brown hair and eyes to match. He was wearing a tuxedo, and dress shoes, he looked down at me and said "Nice to meet you Eve. You can call me Ron or Dad." I smiled at him and called him Dad.

We got into his car and drove to his house, my house. Everything was fine, living with him was amazing. He treated me like a princess, but all that changed two weeks later.

It was about 3 in the afternoon and I just arrived from school, when I heard a noise in my Dad's room. I ran upstairs when I walked into the room, I found my dad and some unknown women in the bed. My Dad's face changed from the sweet face I always saw, to a pissed off, murderous expression.

He screamed at me with venom in his voice "YOU STUPID LITTLE GIRL, WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT ENTERING MY ROOM!" He got up, put on a pair of pants on, walked up to me and slapped me across the face. A red bruise started to form on my cheek when, a smiled creeped onto his face.

The guy was a sadist! He started to slapping me some more, when his fist came into contact with my right cheek. I fell down backward, sobbing as he then kicked my shoulder, with enough force to dislocate it. I let out a horrific scream, when he started to stomp on my rib cage.

I was losing consciousness, when I heard sirens in the distances. Soon enough policemen came inside and dragged him away, and as they did he screamed "You'll regret this Eve!" With that I blacked out.

*Present*

I was sitting there in the quiet room as Lucas barges in through the front door. I try my best to ignore him, when he lifts up my chin softly and then drops his hand and hugs me. You could tell by his green eyes, that he was crying. He stepped back and said "I'm sorry Eve, please forgive me. It's not that I didn't trust you, it's just that I didn't want you getting hurt. Like you did the other day in the park. I wanted to protect you.' I just stared at him as he said that and I felt truly loved a feeling, I forgot about.

He went over to talk to Rosa as a few happy-filled tears silently fell. We started to walk home as Lucas gently turned me facing him, placed me gently against the wall behind me and ...
