I could feel the rough calluses, evidence of numerous battles and victories, covering the abnormally large hand as I shook it.  The massive man looked at me with his bright eyes as a large grin spread across his face. He opened his mouth to speak but I already knew what he was going to say. Thank you young Kirisagi, I wouldn't have been able to do it without you. This fight would've meant the end of everything if you hadn't been here.

Everything seemed to slow down as I waited for All Might to speak those words, words I had dreamed about for years, but what came out of his mouth instead was a blaring siren that brought me out of my pleasent slumber and into the harsh reality that was my bedroom. It took me a few moments to realize that the horrbile sound that had woken me was the fire alarm screaming due to something being scorched in the kitchen.

I let out a low groan of frustration and dragged myself out of my oh so comfortable bed. "Damn it dad," I said outloud as I walked out of my room, "You know I'm supposed to be the only one to use the kitchen since you have no idea how to cook anything whatsoever." I tilted my head to the right as I entered the kitchen, narrowly avoiding the knife that buried itself in the wall.
"I was trying to be nice and make you an amazing breakfast before your first day, but since you were so mean you can make me breakfast."
"I would've ended up cooking regardless"
"That hurts you know."
As I bussled about the kitchen preparing some pancakes, eggs, and sausages, my father asked me "are you nervous at all?"
"I would be lying if I said I wasn't." I placed the plates of food on the table and sat down to eat. "I'm going to a new school in a new city in a new country and all this happened in a week and a half."
"I know its tough, but you know that your mother wanted you to come live with me If anything ever happened to her. She didn't want you to be all alone without any one to help you with..." he paused and took a large bite out of one of his sausages, unsure of how to continue.
"Dad, you don't need to carefully tiptoe around the subject, I'm blind. It is what it is, and you know that calling me blind isn't entirely true." I waved my syrup covered fork in the air for emphasis. "I was accepted into Yuuei under unique circumstances, but that doesn't mean I'm going to want to be treated as though I'm a special case, or some kind of porcelain artifact."

He looked down and I could feel the uncertainty rolling off him in waves. He looked back up at me and said, "I hope that you have a wonderful first day and thank you for breakfast, but I need to go open the dojo, I have an early class today," he got up, grabbed his jacket and left.

I sat there for a moment, thinking about my fathers akwardness, before I finished my breakfast and took a quick shower. After I got out, I stopped and stood in front of the mirror for a few moments. I knew I couldn't see my reflection, but it was a strangely comforting feeling nonetheless. I put my hair up in a knot, got dressed, put on my blindfold, grabbed my school bag and staff and left.

Fortunately both my house and the school were located in Musutafu so it only took about 20 minutes to get there. Since I was running a bit early I stopped at a convenience store that was nearby and bought a small box of chocolate covered biscuit sticks (I became addicted to those things right after I moved). After a little more walking I entered the front gate of the school and was greeted by a grand sight. The main building was huge, at least a dozen stories tall, maybe more. A massive wall at least fifteen feet high stretched around the entire campus, which seemed to be of an equally massive proportion.

After shaking off my brief moment of awe, I walked up the front stairs and into the building, where I was quickly welcomed by the tall, muscular, grinning hero from my dreams.

"Greetings young man! You must be the last minute transfer correct? I believe your name was Kirisagi wasn't it?"

I took a deep breath before answering him, Come on Viktor keep it cool, don't freak out, its just the hero that you've looked up to your whole life greeting you on your first day of school. "Yes sir, I would be the last minute transfer, my name is Viktor Kirisagi, Its a pleasure to meet you. If you dont mind me asking, What exactly are you doing here sir, as the symbol of peace, shouldn't you be out patrolling, or saving someone?"

"Ah yes, that would be true in the past, but your looking at the newest member of the Yuuei faculty! I look forward to seeing you in the classroom. By the way, what's with the blindfold and bo staff, are you some kind of cosplayer? I must say, it goes rather well with the school uniform."

"Actually, I'm blind."

"Huh! Uh, um, ah, my apologies young Kirisagi I had no idea, please forgive me," He immediately bowed apologetically

"Its fine All Might, I'm used to it, besides, its incredibly entertaining for me seeing how flustered people can get. Also, I'm not entirely blind, I can still see the physical world. I spent years learning how to sharpen my other senses to make up for my lacl of sight. All my other senses are enhanced compared to a normal persons, they absorb all the information around me, the sounds, the smells, what I touch, and my brain processes all of that data and then forms an accurate image of my surroundings in my minds eye."

"That's rather impressive."

"That's only part of it, because of my training, the image that "see" is a full three dimensional cube of my surroundings.

"That's incredible! I cant think of anyone who has a quirk that lest them see wverything around them at once! Speaking of, what is your quirk? I don't think I've heard anything about it yet."

My quirk is called Hardlight, it lets me  manipulate and concentrate light, even turning it into a physical object if I want."

"Well now, that sounds like quite the ability. I'd love to hear more but I've held you up long enough, please allow me to show you to your homeroom."

We walked through the building for a few minutes exchanging some more light conversation until we arrived at a massive metal door. I made a quick mental note of what floor it was on and where it was located so I would be able to find it on my own.

"Here we are, your homeroom class one A. I'm sure that one of your classmates would be glad to show you around during their freetime, so don't be afraid to ask. Now then, I will see you later!"

He took off down the hallway and ran around the corner leaving a small dust trail in his wake. I turned and opened the door. Lets see how well this goes. I walked in and was greeted  by the sound of a man speaking to the class. His voice sounded like he was perpetually bored, or maybe tired. I stood in the corner next to the door as he spoke.
"I want you to put these on and follow me outside." He held up what I assumed was the schools athletic uniform. "But before that happens I would like to introduce someone. Someone who isn't very concerned with first impressions and was late to his first day of class. This is our newest addition to the class, He was admitted under a private recommendation from America. My name is Shota Aizawa, I'm going to be your homeroom teacher, Go on introduce yourself."
I stepped up in front of the class, bowed  slightly and said, "My name is Viktor Kirisagi. I look forward to getting to know you all." All that I heard in reply was several seconds of silence so I asked, "What's wrong? Was my pronunciation incorrect? I'm sorry, it has been a while since I've spoken Japanese." Still more silence. "Um, Mr. Aizawa, I think I broke your class."
"Hey dumbass your facing the wrong way, what are you blind?" A few small snickers followed the boys statement.
"As a matter of fact, yes, I am blind." I grinned inwardly as I heard a collective gasp of shock and regret. Oh this is going to be so much fun.
