"WHAT!" everyone yelled. Even I was somewhat taken aback, I expected the education at the number one school in the country to be tough, but Aizawas threat was something else entirely.
"Like I said," Aizawa grinned as he spoke, "I get to decide how this class is run, understand? If thats a problem you can pack your bags and head home right now."
The round faced girl spoke up, "you cant just send someone home because they were last, we just got here, even if it wasn't the first day of school, that wouldn't be fair."
"Oh, and you think natural disasters are? Or what about power hungry villains hm? Or catastrophic accidents that wipe out whole cities? No, the world is full of unfairness, and its a heroes job to try to combat that unfairness. If you want to be a pro your going to have to push yourself past your limits, and we're having this test to find out exactly what those limits are." Aizawa turned and pointed at me, "but before I go any further I want to know why your even at this school. How could you possibly hope to be a hero when you lack one of the most necessary abilities required for the job? How do you expect to succeed without your sight?
"What can I say, I'm an optimist." I replied.
"Whatever you say. Lets go ahead and get these trials started, first up is the 50 meter dash."
A tall boy with what appeared to be pipes coming out of his legs took a starting position next to a short girl who possessed fairly large hands and feet.
The camera at the other end of the track said, "on your marks, get set, go!" It fired a starting shot and the boy took off from the starting line immediately.
His strides were incredibly long, and incredibly fast. I assumed his quirk was some kind of speed boost or enhancement. He crossed the finish line very quickly. "3.04 seconds," said the camera. Now, I was impressed, I waited for him to walk back to the group so I could ask his name and about his power.
"I'm Tenya Iida, and my quirk is called engine, It lets me run at very high speeds, but unfortunately on a track this small I can't reach my top speed."
"Its a pleasure to meet you," I replied.
Next up to run was the round faced girl and a boy with an incredibly muscular tail. After they were finished, they walked up to me and said something very similar to Iidas introductory statement.
"Hi, I'm Ochako Uraraka, and my power is zero gravity, the name is kind of self explanitory."
"My name is Mashirao Ojiro. I don't think my quirk is going to require an explination either." He flicked his tail to emphasize his statement.
I assumed that this was the routine that all the other students were going to follow, and I was right. By the time it came for me to do my sprint I had more than a dozen and a half names bouncing around in my head.
"Alright, lets see what the blind boy can do." I couldn't tell if Aizawa was trying to rile me up or throw me off, but I kept my mind cool anyways.
I handed my staff to Kirishima and asked him,"Would you mind holding on to this for me?" I took my starting position, hands on the ground, legs slightly bent, and then I started to focus. I felt the warmth of the sunlight on my back, on my face, my shoulders, my arms, I started to will the light to compress, letting the pressure build behind me like a wall of force. "You guys might want to stand back." Everyone rapidly took several paces away from me, unsure of what was going to happen.
"Whoa, look at what's happening in the air behind him," Sero pointed out, "its like all the light that should be shining on him is just hitting an invisible wall."
"Hey is it just me or is it starting to get a little warmer put here?" Asked Jirou.
"On your mark!"
"Should we stand a little further away back?" Yaoyorozu asked.
"Get set!"
"That's probably a smart idea." Midoriya nervously said. They all took another large step back.
"Go!"
I let all the light energy I had built up go off all at once. The heat from all that light burnt the bottom of my shoes and blackened the dirt I had been standing on.
As for my body, I was currently airborne, flying through the air only a few feet above the ground. As my initial acceleration and height began to decrease, I twisted myself around in the air and dragged my hands across the ground until I came to a halt, once more in the crouched position I had started my sprint in.
"3.09 seconds!"
