The sudden revalation that no one was going to be expelled was a comforting thought. However several of us were still thrown off by the fact that the teacher lied to us.
The rest of the day passed fairly quickly after the tests ended. Aizawa sent midoriya to the nurses office to have his finger healed. Iida and I decided to wait for him to come out before walking home.
When he exited the main building, Iida approached him and asked, "How is your finger doing?"
Midoriya seemed caught off guard that another student showed concern for his well being and stuttered for a moment before answering. "Oh, its doing fine thanks to Recovery Girl. She was able to patch me up right away."
We started walking down the road and after a few moments Iida began to speak, "You know, I was a bit concerned about Mr. Aizawas approach to class, but I trust the schools judgement when it comes to who they put in charge of our education. After all, every one of the teachers is a pro hero. Still though, lying is downright immoral."
He looked down in thought as a cheerful voice called out to us, "Hey! Wait for me you guys! Are you going to the station? I'll join you!"
We turned around to see the infinity girl running up to us.
"Hey Ochako, " I said, "I don't have to take the train, but since its on the way I was going to walk with these two until we got to the station."
"Ok! Well I'll come with you guys, you know, just to keep you company!"
Her chipper attitude was quite infectious. It made me feel like the day was going to get better just from speaking to her. I had no idea just how wrong I was.
"Hey, your name's Deku right?" She turned to Midoriya.
"Actually Its Izuku."
"But that angry boy called you Deku. He said something along the lines of DEKU YOU BASTARD!"
I let out a laugh at her impersonation of Bakugo. "That seems pretty accurate to me."
"Well, Deku would make a great hero name, plus I think its kind of cute."
"Deku it is!" Midoriya cried out.
"Wait, what?" Iida looked at him in suprise, "but weren't you just, didn't you say its insulting?"
Midoriya put his face down in his hands and started muttering."I'm in a paradime shift, my whole reality is crumbling down around me. First I get into Yuuei, and now I'm talking to a cute girl. How long will this good fortune possibly last?"
I chuckled again at the antics of the green haired boy. I think I'm going to enjoy it here.
. . .
We walked and talked until we reached the train station where I bid the other three farewell as they boarded the train.
"I'll see you guys tomorrow, come find me at lunch if you want to hear my story." I waited until the train pulled away before I started my own walk back home. The diversion had taken me pretty far off course so I probably wouldn't make it back home before nightfall. I wanted to make sure my father wasn't upset that I was out so late so I stopped by a convenience store and grabbed a bar of fancy chocolate.
It took me about an hour and a half to walk from the station to my apartment. On my way home I had to pass by the dojo my father ran, I was suprised to see a large crowd gathered in front of it, I didn't think he was so popular, as I passed by I heard I heard a sharp CRUNCH.
The piece of glass I stepped on gave me a crystal clear view of my surroundings. I could see that the large window that was in front had been blasted outward with extreme force. Small shards littered the ground all the way across the street.
Inside there were holes in the walls and training equipment was scattered everywhere, and lying facedown in the far corner of the main room was a body, horribly beaten and barely breathing.
"No," I whispered, "Not him too, oh please, dear God not him too."
I muscled my way through the crowd and started shouting, "Dad! DAD! Are you there? Is that you?'
The body let out a blood filled cough and rolled itself over confirming my fears. "Viktor, why*ack* why are you here?"
I knelt down next to him and helped him sit up, "What happened here? Who did this?" I paused as I noticed his chest, there was a a large area on it that was whispering. Then I realized why I could hear what was happening.
It was turning to dust.
I could hear my fathers skin and muscle disintegrating, crumbling in my hands.
"Anyone!? Is there anyone here that can help!?" I was yelling frantically, tears streaming down my face.
"Viktor, please, stop. You need to listen, you *hack* you know my past, you know what i've done. Do me a favor, and stay away from the man with a hand for a face. I don't want him getting you too."
"I don't what that means dad!"
He reached up grabbed my shirt and pulled me in close, "Promise me!"
"I, I promise."
Time seemed to slow as his grip loosened, then his arm fell and hit the ground. The rythmic thumping of his heart stopped, All I could hear was my tears quietly dripping onto the floor.
"No, NOOOOOOOO!"
