Hermione's POV

Why does Ronald always sleep in till the last minute? It's 7:50am and he needs to be in the Ministry for work in 10 minutes. I've already eaten, done some laundry and sent out some letters to friends and family. The clock was ticking away and I knew I had to go and wake him up. I got my wand, walked into our bedroom, stood over him.

"Aguamenti" I shouted. Water flew out of my wand and straight onto Ron.

He was screaming loudly like a baby.

"Hermione, what, why?"

I had my stern face on, not happy or impressed.

"You have work in, 7 minutes now, get up and dressed and we'll leave" I told him and walked out to sort my bag out.

Work is quite stressful at the moment, with it being August its nearly time for a new year at Hogwarts and students are now discovering they're magical, also current students are trying to do spells outside of school which of course is not allowed. Ron has been coming home late quite often, but I know he's busy with his Auror duties and all, especially with all the wizards who think they can bring back Voldemort. He's been rushed off his feet recently.

"Right, I'm ready, its 7:58 should we go?" Ron said as he emerged out of the room, I nodded and grabbed his hand to apparate to the ministry. Even after 9 years of doing it, it still makes me slightly queasy.

"Right I'm off, I'll be home later, don't wait up if I'm not back early" Ron said to me, kissed my cheek and ran off to meet Harry. I've got used to hearing those words.

I walked to my office, people waving and greeting me. I stopped outside the door, I could hear someone on the other side, shuffling and walking. There was no one due to meet me was there? No of course there wasn't, it's Wednesday, nothing much really happens mid-week. I got my wand out and held it in front of me, a spell at the tip of my tongue. I grabbed the door knob and pushed it open, wand in the air. A figure in the room jumped and spun around, making me jump.

"Argh, Ginny! What are you doing? You scared the living crookshanks out of me". I told her. Even though the war has passed, I'm still always on alert. CONSTANT VIGILANCE as Moody would say.

"Shush, shut the door now and sit down." She ordered me. I looked at her like she was a crazy women. What's up with her? She's never this suspicious. I closed the door, flicking my wand to lock it as well. Wait, she's not?..

"Wait Ginny, your not.. pregnant are you?" I asked her. Her face was unbelievable.

"What? No silly, no this is really important and much more pressing than any pregnancy. Now, don't freak out, don't cry, don't get angry, just listen and absorb what I'm about to tell you". She sat me down and pulled a chair up next to me.

Why is she being this odd?

"So, I went to George's today in Diagon Alley, and Angelina was there. She was out on Saturday in the Leaky Cauldron having a quick drink and a catch up with some friends in her year and she said she spotted two people laughing with each other and drinking in the corner. She couldn't see too well as it was dark, but she thinks it was Ron and Pansy Parkinson."

I just sat there, gobsmacked. Did I hear that right? Ron.. my Ron in a pub with another women? Least of all Pansy Parkinson?

"No, no it cant be. Ron was working here late, he said he was following a lead. It might of been that, you know he might of been finding something out from her to help with a case. No, Ron wouldn't lie to me, he's not like that Ginny, he's not, is he?" I looked at her, desperate for her to agree with me.

She lowered her head, as did I - except mine was on her shoulder, tears pouring out of my eyes. My Ronald, my Ron drinking with another girl, Pansy Parkinson out of all of them. I needed to find out if this was true, it cant' be, I mean I had a feeling he was going to propose soon. My head is so confused. I looked at her, she looked at me with sorrow in her eyes. She wrapper her arms around me whilst I let silent tears drop down my face. She kissed my forehead and whispered to me.

"You know what you have to do".

She stood up, unlocked the door and left.

I knew I had to go and find out myself. I mean he said to me to not wait up if he's home late, but oh don't worry, I'll be waiting up all night.
