I bursted into the door and I see Dani on her hands and knees clutching my dads ankles begging us not to leave.
He had an annoyed look on his face.
I giggled, as soon as I did that her head popped up. She stomped towards me, this didn't look good.
" Cass, tell your father that my parents approved of you living in our attic for the rest of high school." She said with a determined look on her face.
" Can I?"
He shook his head.
"Now come on we have to get going, we already have our boxes packed up" he said
I looked around, wow. I was so caught up with Dani that I didn't even realize our house was a desert. Nothing, all I could hear was the echoes of our voices.
Before we knew it Dani and I were lying on the floor bursting out in tears.
My dad insensitively just stepped over us.
" I'll give you two some time to cry and talk, mostly cry." He said as he shut the door.
" What am I going to do without you? We have been best frie-"
"Sisters" I corrected her
"Right, sisters forever ever since pre-k. Without you here I'm just that girl that has no best friend anymore." she pouted
" You can hang out with Sarah and Jillian."
Those were some other close friends, but not as close as Danielle and I.
" It isn't the same" she cried some more
"I understand, but I am always here for you just text or call whenever wherever." I said
We stood up did our handshake we have had since I could remember and then hugged. We hugged until my dad rushed me to go.
"Bye Mr. Thomas, or can I call you dad?" she asked
"Of course you can" he grinned
We hopped into the truck. I pulled out my phone and earbuds and listened to Dani's And My favorite song, Home by Phillip Phillips.
I stared out the window waving until I couldn't see Danielle anymore.
