After I got over my disappointment, I really did go check the mail. I opened the squeaky green handle and saw a letter.

It was an invite to a neighborhood party! But not just any party, a party to welcome us! The address was right across the street from our house.

Either these people are very welcoming or just like to throw parties. It said it was a cookout tomorrow at 12:00 PM till 3:00 PM.

When my dad returned home from his hunt to find milk I showed him the invite.

"Do you want to go? Because I'll be fine if you are."my dad asked

"Sure, it will be fun to make some friends"

He seemed taken by that comment.

Sure I said that on the outside, but on the inside I wasn't so sure. I mean a cookout sounds like a lot of fun, but truth is I am really shy.

Only If I know you, then i will warm up and talk. Otherwise I would stand the in front of you like a deer in head lights not knowing what to say.

I plopped in the couch and turned on the TV. I was as bored as I would be in school.

I heard a ding and immediately picked up my phone to see who it was. Yes! It was Danielle.

I read it

Hey Cass, i miss u so much. how is it goin?

I replied

Hey! Oh my gosh Dani I miss u sooo much too!!! So far pretty good how is it in California?

We went back and forth until we each had to go. After we were done chatting, I went to go lay on my pull out couch in the family room and watched Frozen,I love that movie!

Even though it was only lunch time I slept because I had nothing better to do, I still have no friends here. But that does not mean I won't!
